DC was "supposed" to do a "soft relaunch", whatever that's supposed to mean, with the Batman and Green Lantern titles continuing as they were...ergo, not the "whole universe".

Marvel (and prior to that, DC) can call it whatever they want, but they're "redoing things", and it will effect EVERYTHING.

Maybe the Phoenix 5 reverse the effects of the whole House of M / Decimation storyline, which would rewrite the past 5? years of storyline.

Of course, having stated that there is no retcon, means that this plausible storyline is not valid; instead, let's just mix up teams for no good reason whatsoever.

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

Marvel doesn't have to worry about starting a new continuity, every book for the last 12 years has ignored continuity and did its own thing often to the detriment of properties that didn't have a superstar writer (or have a movie license owned by Disney/Marvel).

Yes Marvel has really let it slide on the continuity.

-The New Nova is a good example, If you read the Nova Series then the Thanos Imperative, you know that Richard rider took the entire Nova force with him during the Showdown with Thanos in the Cancerverse. So Starlord and Nova are trapped in the Cancerverse. The Worldmind went dormant.

So New Nova shows up...... there was a throwaway panel where Garthan Sal rescued the Shi'Ar Nova Prime in the Nova series, but nothing was ever followed up on it. You could explain him away that way, but its like he just shows up and has had the powers for awhile and your like WTF?

From everything I read on this, it seems more like a creative pass around, and it's more to the writer's liking. A lot of them have been on the same family of books for almost 10 years, some not so long. Bendis writing a series with the original X-Men sounds very intriguing. The single image of the Uncanny Avengers looks promising and is a team made of some of my favorite mutants and non mutants. Cap, Havok, Thor, Rogue, Scarlet Witch and Wolverine sound like a good mix for a team book. I have faith in Remender to bring this book together nicely. I also really like the idea of the Avengers recognizing they've done little to nothing to further human/mutant relations and seeing the X miniverse folded into the Marvel universe a bit more. Same for the cosmic miniverse.

I'll at least be giving Uncanny Avengers and All New X-Men a shot out of what they've announced so far.

Are the temporary sales bumps from all these relaunches worth it? Are they bringing in enough new readers to balance out all the fans they're pissing off with these constant ADD-ish overhauls?

No, the only thing that surprises me is that it's taken this long for Marvel to follow suit.
I'm curious as to the decision timeline for Uncanny X-Men.

When they decided to relaunch Marvel's longest running title, did they have any inkling of this MarvelNu stuff? Did they know when they released the new Uncanny X-Men that it would really just be a glorified maxi-series to bridge the classic title to the post AvX stuff?

Or is the new Uncanny X-Men tanking so bad they're already panicking to relaunch it?

Tales of Judgment. Also here, instead of that other place.

good luck D.B.B.

I can't even read Marvel anymore it's gotten so bad, imo.

Heh, and I was just coming here to ask where a good place to start reading Cap A was, since it appears they recently "re-launched" him (Vol. 6 is what the Marvel comics app calls it), and if that was in the "main" universe or its own thing. Guess I may as well hold off.

As long as they don't touch Scarlet Spider or ASM, I'm cool.

Expecting lots of Marvel publishing news over the next two days. Will be interesting to see what Quesada pushes (and what Axel reinforces).
