Stj/Nin

Hi guys. Been playing a long time, but never got into stalkers. However the other day, I came up with a toon concept that would not work on either a Scrapper or a Brute, so I rolled up my new Stalker. Previously whenever I would try out Stalker, I would make it to level 10 or so, and just have a strong distaste for it. Now with the new and improved changes to Stalkers, I am loving it

Here's my problem though, I have no clue how to build a /nin toon. Or a Stj/ toon for that matter!

So I came here with a couple of questions.

1. Is it possible to get /Nin to the iCap?
2. Regarding /Nins wonderful toys, is there any that should be skipped?
3. Is hasten necessary for respectable damage?

I'd like to have SJ as my travel power, as it fits the character concept, and teleport is handy to help teams. Otherwise I'm pretty much open. Any help is appreciated.

1) No idea. I'd say likely, but probably at the cost of more damage.

2) Smoke Flash I find to be suckie. Blinding Powder with the Purple Proc. Caltrops I tend to take at lvl 49 if I take it at all.

3) Hasten is never required.

The nice thing about Assassin's Focus is that even if you don't have a lot of recharge (ie hasten), you can still do pretty good damage. I mean, by sacrificing hasten you won't be able to touch the best attack chains, but I know people hate hasten and it still looks/sounds horrid (especially for Natural characters), and that's fine. Stalkers are in their current iteration pretty amazing and you'll do Tons of Damage as long as you play well. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you're trying for feats of strength (soloing pylons, AVs, etc).

1) iCapping would be tough. My Stj/Nin has about 53% positional overall when unhidden. I recommend supplementing what number you can achieve with Shadow Meld (from the Soul Mastery Patron Power Pool) as a complementary tool. Of all the sacrifices you'll find in reaching for the bigger defensive set bonuses, I believe your individual power Accuracy enhancement values will suffer. Makos and Touch of Death, for example, don't offer great accuracy within the set.

2) I also do not use Smoke Flash, but I find caltrops to an amazing tool for aggro control (blocking doorways/pathways to impede ambushes, slowing down larger groups of foes, etc.). I don't use Blinding Powder nearly as much, but I find it a helpful addition for multiple spawn management or to assist a squishier ally.

3) I personally attempt to find my recharge everywhere else before considering Hasten. While hasten is helpful, there are a number of global bonuses, Alpha Slot Boosts, and set bonuses that can offer enough recharge to help you sustain a potent attack chain.

I wish you good luck in whatever you choose. Enjoy the new age of stalking!

Veridian Dynamics. Mistakes. We all make them. But sometimes mistakes lead to great discoveries. Mistakes are how we learn and grow... so we can do amazing things.
When you think about it, shouldn't you be thanking us for making mistakes? Veridian Dynamics. We're sorry. You're welcome.

Ok, so I've made it to 45, andusing just generic IO's, this toon is a beast. A BEAST I SAY!!!!!!
But here comes the fun part. Incarnates! I am thinking musculature for alpha, assault for hybrid, and rebirth for destiny.

Has anyone else grabbed assualt and musculature? How do you like it?

I'm also working on a new /Nin.. And I'm fairly new to the set. Is it me, am I missing something, or is Mid's off, or is /Nin missing any KB protection?

Thanks. I had sorta assumed it was similar to SR and was in with the clicky mez protection. When I noticed it didn't say that, well, I went looking... Thanks for clarifying, now to rework my build some.
