Need help finding a particular webcomic
A while back someone linked to a webcomic that had a guy and a girl talking about how comics were all about the male power fantasies, even the beefy guys were just part of that.
She then proceded to draw a picture of Batman if they were drawing it for her; he'd be slimmer, bigger eyes, kissable lips, that kind of thing. The main thing I remember about it is the 'punch line' of the guy saying something like "That picture makes me feel uncomfortable" and she replies "Welcome to the background radiation that is my life..." I thought it was really funny and was talking to some friends about it, but I'm unable to locate it again to show them. Any help out there? |
Awesome! Yup, that's what I was looking for. Thanks so much for the link!
"I play characters. I have to have a very strong visual appearance, backstory, name, etc. to get involved with a character, otherwise I simply won't play it very long. I'm not an RPer by any stretch of the imagination, but character concept is very important for me."- Back Alley Brawler
I couldn't agree more.
Is that link SFW?
The comic has gone downhill, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
BrandX Future Staff Fighter
The BrandX Collection
I agree. To me it's always been 'readable' with occasional moments of 'good' - such as the comic that's being discussed here. The moments are almost always in his non-story arc comics. To me they've always been by far his greater strength as a writer.
He seems like a smart guy who knows his subject matter and is a decent cartoonist but like many webcomics I feel that his story lines often get away from him. I don't know if that's because, like me, his stories are bigger than his ability to tell them, whether it's because he has too many projects on the go, or if it's because of the need to appease his steady fanbase who expect them.
Weight training: Because you'll never hear someone lament "If only I were weaker, I could have saved them."
