1.17 endurace drain bad?

I recently decided to make some slight changes to my widow build. However if I do make this change I have the following questions.

As part of my change I am left with an option of having an endurance drain of 1.09 with a good increase to def, or I can take an endurance drain of 1.17 and still get a good increase to my def, and a mostly small increase above the option that the 1.09 endurance drain offers.

Keep in mind that I am using the Cardiac Alpha slot. Both of the 1.09 and 1.17 will be my final total endurance drain in the end. So would it be wise to take as much as I can get / 1.17? or stay humble with the 1.09?

If need be I can post my build, but I thought it best ask first about the end drain. Thank you.

Post your build, that way we can see it and maybe suggest how to fix the endurance drain for you. I've found that is the best way to determine these things, as I had a banespider build with the same problem and got help for it.

Fair enough. My build. 1.17 current. If you change the lotg in maneuvers to the def/end lotg you will get 1.09 end drain.

Just a note about endurance, your net end gain is MUCH more important than your endurance drain figure alone which without seeing the recovery figure is actually meaningless. Net recovery is the only stat to care about.

Some people seem to have this idea that a 2:1 ratio of recovery to drain is a build goal but it doesn't really mean anything.

As for your build as long as your attacks are well slotted for endrd (And with Cardiac the will be) then you will generally be fine and losing 0.08 eps is pretty here nor there unless you are calculating for using a specific attack chain.

The real endurance drain you should be looking at is your attacks, especially since Night Widows eat endurance like crazy. Without Cardiac or Ageless, my rough estimation puts you at running out of endurance in under a minute of constantly attacking.

The only thing I've done to this build is add super speed and maneuvers. I never run out of endurance while fighting due to having cardiac. My end bar doesn't even drop to half. Part of the reason why I enjoy my widow is that the endless barrage and crazy recharge I put out / have.

If you are saying that running / adding maneuvers with my current build (Not) super speed as I only slotted it for having a point left over and will not really use it during combat will change that, then I shall consider, but I couldn't seeing it being that drastic that I would run out of end completely.

Are you certain of this?

All I'm saying is that you need Cardiac or Ageless to be somewhat end sustainable. Seeing as you have Cardiac, you're set.

Also, the new ATO set Spider's Bite, may help a bit with your endurance. I think I seen BlueRuckus post the stats from beta for it, if you 6 slot it I think it adds up to 3.6% to endurance. So, that may be something to look into.

Okay, you're running 1.17/sec (pre-Alpha) resting endurance consumption.
Your recovery is 3.12 endurance/sec

So you have roughly 2 end/sec recovery just standing there doing jack. Which isn't bad.

Now, most of your attacks are well slotted for EndRed. That's going to go a long way.

Plus, it's my understanding you went with Cardiac as well. As such, I'd say you're fine. Keep a couple blues around for REALLY protracted fights and you should be good.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Same for me. I'm looking at my net recovery in Mids and really don't care what my consumption is since Mids doesn't calculate attack usage. Generally I'm going to initially aim for a minimum of netting 2.5 end/sec and shooting for 3.0 end/sec (or more). Between 2.0 and 2.5 I'll expect a steady loss of end while attacking but usually manageable with blues etc.. Under 2.0 I'm expecting "end issues". And again these are rough guidelines as I look at Mids while tweaking my build and don't take into consideration which AT/build I might be looking at ... i.e. is it a Empath with RA, a perma Heat Loss Cold or DM with Dark Consumption etc.. I had a Sonic Resonance build, for example, running with a drain well over 2, but also had a recovery well over 4. Endurance is rarely an issue since his net is around 2.3 as I recall ... especially in light of the fact he doesn't solo except once in blue moon.

you build looks solid, just 1 quick thing i see which is not a big deal, but thought i would share. In manuvers you slotted LOTG defense. I would just slot an lv50 defense IO you get the same numbers but not have the huge cost of the LOTG unless of course it was the global recharge LOTG. Like i said not a big deal just saving some Inf for ya.

One thing I don't recall anyone mentioning this (and I apologize if I missed it in another post), Grab the 4 accolades that give you permanent bonuses to your endurance and hit points. It ends up being 10 more endurance points, which will improve your recovery to 3.43 without the Alpha slot, and over 200 hit points to your build.
