I'm a little ambivalent about this..

I'm not sure if I got lucky, or not.

I ran out of alts to store inf on a while back, since I don't really spend it and keep generating it more out of habit than anything else.

So I placed what I considered lowball bids on various things as a storage mechanism. Nothing new there, lots of people do it.

Then Super Packs hit and this happened. <shrug> No big deal.

Then a couple of weeks ago (I kept forgetting to post this here), I logged in the alt I had a load of PVP Unique inf storage bids on to play a bit and found this:

So, I'm 1Bn liquid inf lighter, but I'm one shiny thing better off, at a pretty massive discount from the previous sales (and I don't think any more have shifted since that bid filled). Hence my ambivalence.

Grud alone knows what chaos is going to happen on Tuesday/Wednesday of this week. Good hunting for those of you who will be seeking to benefit from the chaos. Myself, I'm staying out of it, I've got MORE than enough inf for my needs and I'm too idle to put any real effort into getting more of something I don't need

(on a side note, what the drokk has happened to high level Rare salvage prices recently? last time I saw prices up in the 3-4M mark, Monkeygeddon was alive in the AE....)

Edited because I missed that it was level 10. Level 10 probably will hold value pretty well.

You have to ask this question: how high does the price difference have to be before people who have L10s slotted will just pop out the L10 with an unslotter or respec and sell it off?

I am skeptical that this is particularly high. Even when these things cost billions, the biggest difference I saw between L10 and L50 was ~500M. When L50s cost 200M, how big of a differential can there be?

The supply of level 10s is never going to be all that high, relative to 50s. That's really all I was thinking.

I don't put it outside the realm of possibility that a level 10 version will still command a billion or more. My initial response was "Sell it NAO!" when I thought it was a level 50, hence my edit.

If it were mine, level 10 or not, I'd be relisting it to see if I could grab a few hundred million in profit. That has more to do with my opinion that in terms of what it provides, this remains one of the most over-valued IOs in the game for probably 97% of the characters out there.

My TW/Elec slotted my spare level 10 Gladiator Armor unique - now that he's 50 I'm going to respec it out and replace it with a level 50 version (along with other things, like pulling the 21 PS Proc). Since I like to 4 slot stamina while leveling, I have to respec at 50 anyways so it just goes to the next alt.

Deamus the Fallen - 50 DM/EA Brute - Lib
Dragos Bahtiam - 50 Fire/Ice Blaster - Lib
/facepalm - Apply Directly to the Forehead!
Formally Dragos_Bahtiam - Abbreviate to DSL - Warning, may contain sarcasm

This, it was also my point about the level 15s. It boils down to how much is an unslotter worth ? Especially when they are dropping like rain from super packs.

Super Packs are dropping reward merits like a bad metaphor. People are turning reward merits into recipes at a very high rate- including a lot of "minimum level" recipes. Recipes need rares.

Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.

So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.

It may also be exacerbated by a rush of people crafting and hoarding recipes for I22. I think it's no exaggeration to say there are 10s of thousands of recipes that have been acquired in anticipation of converters. They are all crafted, because you can't convert a recipe, but they were never listed, so IO buyers ALSO need to craft.

I can't speak for everyone, but I was traditionally a very "buy it slow" salvage buyer. I've had to craft 1000 IOs in the past 2 weeks getting ready for I22, and so I stopped caring and started buying it ~nao on a lot of salvage.

Don't mean to threadjack, but I haven't been paying too much attention to beta lately.

I've read the info on converters up on Paragon Wiki, but I'm not clear on one thing: do you get to choose the set and individual IO you convert your enhancement into? Or do you get a random one from the set you want?

Statesmonkey Sez: Lighten up! It's a game, for Lincoln's sake!
Also: Six years of casual play begins to look an awful lot like one year of hardcore play.

So far as I understand it, it's random, but there are different 'grades' of random.

You can convert to a random within the same set, or a random within the same rarity level, or a random within the same category.

Each of which has a different converter cost, the table on http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Enhancem...verter_Salvage has more details, but looks to be a little tricky to read at first glance.

Oh, and on topic again, maybe I lost out big time, but frankly <shrug> if I had 1Bn inf to store in a speculative bid on an IO I'll probably never bother using then meh. <grin>

(I'll probably not bother using it for the same reason I have crafted PVP +res and +def uniques sat in the trays of a couple of alts. I find the whole IO process to be an interminable and tedious faff on.)
