Freaking dammit and the salute badge.

I just woke up to an email that my VIP status expired 11 hours ago. I renewed it already, but will I still get the salute badge? Anyone knows what the grace period is for renewing before losing the badge?

I seem to recall some red name saying that within 24 hours is okay. I'll see if I can dredge up an old post. In any case, they should make a special exception for you.

The rednames seem to be lurking the forums lately. Send a ticket on the site or PM one of the mods here.

I've found a number of posts indicating that, at least for the Vanguard Loyalty Program, your account only had to be active during each 24-hour period. Depending on where Argentina falls with respect to Paragon Studios timezone, blah blah blah, I don't honestly know.

And again, I still haven't managed to find a red name post.

Then you shouldn't have a problem. It was active on both March 1st and March 2nd.

IIRC, I had a similar thing happen with a past Loyalty program, where my account wasn't subbed for about 20 hours (sleep, then work, then relaxing after work took up my time), but I still got the reward.

CoX goes by the GMT, Greenwich Mean Time, when looking at accounts.

I know some can validate the truth of my story:
When Keyes just came out our sever's Mo Team got together to tackle it.
We did several runs, being on vent helped a lot.
On the day that we went for the last badge, Avoid the Green stuff, i told people that this was my last day for a week, since my account expired the next day. We did a few runs, and one one run i DC'd. Being on vent made it easy to relay that, so they waited with the final terminal on 3rd reactor till i was back. Problem was, i could not get back, it stated that my account was expired. The site said the 24th, and it was the 23rd for me, but looking at GMT it was the 24th. I was listening how they got the badge, and i would be one of the 1st 5 to get MoKeyes that run.

CS actually told me that they adhere by GMT when looking at accounts, trust me, i fought this.

I can also recall a red name stating that it was fine to let your account expire, as long as it is renewed that day.
He also gave the advice to not wait too long since there could be a delay in payment transfers that could cause your account to be active, but not officially seen as active until the next 'billing day' goes in.

Had the same thing happen to my account, Leo. Ended up being inactive for about 8 hours. Had a lengthy discussion about the merits of the billing system that spontaneously decided my card was "unavailable" (whatever that means). Despite my marginally terse responses at times, I've been assured that the "lapse" should have no adverse effect.

It was Black Pebble who clarified for this type of situation during the last loyalty program -- I had exactly this happen to me, and had no problems. Of course, that was then and this is now, but it's logical to assume the behavior would be the same.

In any case, you can (as was suggested upthread) certainly PM him just to clarify, but like Chad, I expect there is no issue given the facts as stated.

I'm just going to wait until the badge is awarded and then nag CS if I don't get it. But from the replies it seems that I'm safe. Thanks for the replies, everyone.

Holler if anything goes askew with your Statesman Salute rewards. An 11 hour lapse shouldn't have any impact. It would need to be closer to 24-48 hours. On the off chance it does, CS can take care of it for you.

Kinda late followup (I was taking a break from the game and came back for i23). I didn't get the badge automatically, but I sent a petition and GM Roland took care of it. So, all is good!
