fix weapons!!!

I love weapons like titan, duel pistols. but hate hate how they get a big sword that is bigger than the player out of nowhere.

I think sword and rifle weapons should be on the backs of players, And pistols on the hips.

Also the use of the weapons then using the secondary skill makes you put away the weapon and bring it out again. This sucks.

We are paying good money for these powersets, Surely the Dev's can come up with some animation fix to keep weapons out while using a secondary power skill.

You are more than a little late to the party. Weapons have been pulled from "Hammer-space" since launch.

Part of the issue is that the Devs have so far been unable to change the appearance of a costume piece dependent on whether a power is active or not. Were we to have scabbards and holsters, you would then be complaining that, after you drew the weapon, there would still be a weapon in the container in question

Redraw has been mostly fixed so that you aren't actually losing any time due to the draw animation. Mechanically, redraw is a non-issue. If your complaint is mainly aesthetic, I don;t think you realize how much work it would actually be to kill redraw entirely (almost as much as power customization). In order to facilitate your request, they would need to create alternate animations for every single weapon and available complimentary or pool power that could interact with it.

Let's take Broadsword as an example. Just for Scrappers, there would need to be 121 new animations made, and that is before we get to power pools. If there needed to be 121+ new animations made before they released Staff Fighting, we probably wouldn't see it until the end of the Mayan calendar.

If it a choice between seeing Staff Fighting at the beginning of March, or a few days before the end of the world, I'll take March, and the alternate animations can wait until the Devs have nothing better to do.

What do you do in the case of the assault rifle/ trick arrow corruptor? Both rifle and bow go on the back? I'd also like to know how she would use a power from her secondary without putting her rifle away. Actually, how would a traps user place a trip mine without putting the rifle away?

For every power that currently puts away a weapon, the developers would need to make at least 6 new animations. Male, Huge, Female, Male Flying, Huge Flying, Female Flying. Maybe Axe, Mace, and Broad Sword can all use the same animations, but Katana is left handed (also two handed), Titan Weapons is left handed, two handed, and the hands are further apart than Katana's, Dual Blades is Ambidextrous, Staff Fighting is one weapon and I can't tell if it's right or left handed.

Making that change would be a massive undertaking, even if it were just for the Melee sets.

They would need a much larger development team to get that animation done and still get other stuff done.

But that's still ignoring combos like Redraw Hell's. How would you deal with a situation in which a character has multiple weapons?

Say, Assault Rifle/Trick Arrow/Mace Mastery?

Incorrect. Redraw does have animation time and it will hurt your dps.

I could have sworn that Back Alley Brawler fixed it that draw time was accounted for in the activation time of every weapon power back in 2010.

He posted once that he had discovered a way to do so, but soon thereafter posted that it didn't work after all, and would require further investigation at a later date. It was never addressed again after that, and certainly never made it to live.

Isn't all that also a reason weapon sets have +Acc in them? Or am I recalling wrong?

Only some of them do.

Neither claws nor dual blades nor titan weapons have higher than 1 base accuracy.

Weapons used to have the cast times baked into the animations so that redraw didn't affect DPS. Then BAB and Castle removed that baked in time so that redraw did have an effect on DPS but the upshot was that all the weapon sets benefited when redraw wasn't in the attack chain.

Well put. Weapon redraw was duck taped into the original code and no one's been able to peel it away, but take heart, weapons used to be worse..

I love the hammer space though.

Be nice to have sheathes, or something cool like the MM masterminds. Crossbow hand guards, or quivers.

Instead of taking away hammer space they should make a bugs bunny/cartoon like power set that draws stuff from an oval created out of thin air, or something cool like that. A silly, non conventional WTF power-set that makes ludicrous animations acceptable.

Something like the legendary hero: The Mask (Jim Carry) Power-Set

Knowing how close BAB was to removing redraw completely from the game... and then to watch him disappear... sucked a lot.
