Your GoTo sets...

Is "scrapper" a "set?"

Seriously, though, since I made my dual blades/willpower scrapper my "main" character, I've followed up with a DB/WP tank version and a DB/WP brute for redside. (After getting all of them to level 50, I tried to make a DB/WP stalker but by that point I had the "right" combos firmly entrenched in my head and the stalker version of the combos just felt wrong to me.) I still play all three versions somewhat regularly, and for my playstyle, the synergy of DB, WP, AoE, single target and knockdown mitigation fit perfectly. Most importantly, I find them the most fun to play.

Sure, I have lots of other scrappers, some of whom shine more brightly in certain situations, but unless it's one of those times, I usually find myself wishing I was playing my main -- and for general purpose all-around fun, or the occasional Mo run, I'm usually playing something DB/WP.

30 level 50's: 12 scrappers, 7 other random melee types, 11 blaster/blapper/support squishies, two accounts, and a TON of altitis since 4/28/04

It's not a 'set' but Super Jump has always been my default travel power, unless it didn't fit in concept.

Do not ever give Mind Control a pet. We need more control sets without pets.

Me my favorites tend to be:
Electric Armor is my hands down favorite for my Brutes and Tanks.
Super Str is the melee set for my Brutes and Tanks.
I do have to admit that Titan Weapons might take its place.

Mind Control is my most often used control set.
For support Kinetic is the most often rolled. Followed by Sonic.

Ranged attack is a tie between Psi and Fire.

I make a LOT of alts. But I always come back to certain ones. From most frequent to tenth most frequent (and the bottom of the list is still used often):

Storm summoning
Fire control
Earth control
Super reflexes
Super strength
Force fields
Illusion control
Willpower
Traps
Energy assault

I guess that makes these my favorite sets. I keep coming back to them.

It will be interesting to count my characters, weight by level, and see if my belief above matches the facts.

I counted my levels on characters that are level 32 or higher and ignored everything else. My earlier guess was close in the top 5, but I had some surprises (wrong memory) about my other tops.

My top 20 sets, starting from #1, based on levels:

fire control
storm summoning
earth control
super reflexes
force fields
dark miasma
super strength
kinetics (the buff/debuff set)
illusion control
fire assault
willpower
empathy
sonic resonance
energy assault
gravity control
trick arrow
thugs
plant control

Claws and Regen are the only sets I've reused so far, and I used WP as a sort of "surrogate Regen" on my Claws/WP Brute, since RttC was a better fit to the concept of scaling strength based on threat. Despite the inherent weakness both Regen and WP have to high burst damage, I still love the ability to win the long-term fights and have ludicrous amounts of Recovery so I can scrapperlock like a fiend.
