Where In The World Is The Best Area For COX Meet & Greets/Cons?
I think Bellville, Chappel Hill, or Dobbin, Texas are great places. But only because they have awesome roads that are nearby to ride motorcycles on.
However, you can get an idea of my whereaboutish, and go with that sorta area as the bestest place to go.
Second is Austin.
Third is Kerrville, Texas.
Note that all these have awesome roads about.
August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.

Indianapolis, Indiana, USA?

If Masterminds didn't suck, they'd be the most powerful AT in the game.
If the desire is to have a sizable representation of the Paragon Studios crew, then the best place is right near their offices.
Other than that...
Well, it's a crapshoot, really. We can say Texas and/or Illinois, as they are more centrally located (within the U.S.) and could possibly include the majority of players.
However, quantity ain't quality!
So, I'd say... Paris, France! See you there!

Buffalo NY. Too hopeful, huh? I'd have to agree on Indianapolis, then.
Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.
Is this just a fan thing ... or would it be set up by Dev's ... or would the Dev's be invited?
If we're assuming it a thing we want the Dev's to go to ... we should find out where they're willing to go.
That aside ... Albuquerque, NM. Lots of things are starting to come here. Athletic endurance training ie: cycling, marathon, top MMA fighter training, we even started getting popular bands.
We have some famous movie stars live here, in/around Santa Fe. And many of the recent movies have been filmed here.
But, I do agree that it would be easiest for all players(including euro) if it was in a place close to the ocean.
Well Boston and Seattle host PAX once a year each.
Denver, Colorado, obviously.
Las Vegas, NV.
Cheap flights. Lots of flights in as well.
Cheap hotels (if it's not at the same time as a large convention like CES). Lots of convention space.

- Origins Game Fair: Columbus, OH (Yes, I'll be there again running/co-running an M&G.)
- GenCon: Indianapolis, IN (Yep, running/co-running an M&G there too)
- Chicago, IL would be grand (The Cape on Virtue has this pretty well covered though).
Washington, DC!
Providence, RI would seem fitting, as well.

At the Player Summit in November, they had over half the crew there and it was awesome. Not that I would object to seeing Zwillinger, Positron, and maybe a couple more devs in my hometown, but given the choice, I'd rather see dozens of devs, reps, managers, QA people, artists, etc. by going there than five or six people here.
If I could change one thing, though, it would be the costume codes they give away. It's simply not fair to give away in-game perks to people for being in a certain geographical location, because for most practical purposes, it's simply impossible for some people to make the trip. Physical swag I don't mind so much. T-shirts, posters, etc. work really well for this kind of purpose. Or maybe codes to get some Paragon Market swag (e.g. cards that can be redeemed for a few hundred Paragon Points?) But in my humble opinion, unique in-game swag shouldn't be something that costs person A $40 and a quarter tank of gas, but person B $thousands in airfare, hotel costs, transportation, etc.
So unless something changes and they start rolling in dough, I'd just as soon we have a big shindig each year in Mountain View/Palo Alto.
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)
This. I used to be a critic of Paragon Studios/NCsoft for not doing more conventions and such, but over the course of time, I've changed my mind. I think Zwillinger explained it best that really shifted my perception. Basically, if they travel somewhere to host or participate in an event, you're not going to get much presence because of how expensive it is. Also, they have to schlep or ship everything they use, such as giveaway items.

Just to air on the side of caution:
This is not a ''Dev convention'' set-up, it's a respondent to the idea spawned off the Dev's Summit. I was wondering, if the players had a choice, what area would be the best place to have a convention. To get a semi-good idea of where the highest population of CoH Players are.

I can understand things like costume codes.
I can also understand things like they don't want to have to warehouse T-Shirts of every known size and variety. But I still think that Paragon (or NCSoft) needs to enable people to buy some of the physical swag.
They're already selling mono-color T-Shirts at the NCSoft store. Is NCSoft's web portal REALLY that pathetic and inflexible that they can't add more items (like the art shirts from the last few cons)?

I started thinking about Meet And Greets with the whole summit thing the Devs are hosting. What was I pondering, Pinky? Why where the best place to hold one is.
So to get an idea, I'm coming to all of you.
What Country, State, and City?
I would *think* the one with the best chances for attendance would win by the area with the mass majorities population, so just to see the demographic chart in action; what's your area of choice, and if you so feel free to divulge what City?
For me, ideally but not limited to would be:
Washington State, US. City? Steilacoom/Spokane
You?
