Bored with the market.

Anyone else bored with the market and the market forum?

No new challenges, no new sets, no new IOs.

They are putting alot of time and effort into new power sets, new incarnate powers, slotting and content but they have left us marketeers twiddling our thumbs (again). Most of the new stuff is bind on pick up and un-tradeable

Since War Witch had them merge the BM and WW there isn't even anything to talk about.

Anyone else out there think we need the invention system revamped and new sets added?

Nope. Especially if it winds up being bind on pick up and un-tradeable.

Are they planning on changing the way converted enhancements are traded? I just crafted a Gladiator's Armor: End/Rech and converted it to GA: Resistance (got it in one), then put it on the market.

Unless they're changing the way that works, it looks like you'll be able convert things and then sell them.

We still don't have purple sets for many things and many categories are lacking in options with only 3-4 sets and out of those only one having desirable set bonuses.

I am an ebil markeeter and will steal your moneiz ...correction stole your moneiz. I support keeping the poor down because it is impossible to make moneiz in this game.

@Rodion - Enhancement conversion isn't really any thing "new". It's just a way to change something that's old in to something else that's old.

No, but ATOs are (will be) new, and those figure to be a hot market item when they hit with I22.

I would love to see a revamp of old set bonuses and sets honestly.

No, I want new inventions that have bonuses people actually want, for powers people actually use.

How many snipe sets are there? How many ATs have snipes? How many snipe powers are there in a power set?

How many TAoE sets are there? How many ATs have TAoE powers and how many TAoEs are there in a power set?

How many ranged damage sets, level 30+, have range as one of their enhancements? How many ranged damage sets give a global bonus to range?

How many enhancement sets give bonuses to things like debt protection?

Why do some set bonuses provide resistance to a particular status effect? In game you either have mez protection and its a moot set bonus or you have no status protection and it doesn't do enough.

I'd love to see some dev attention on these sorts of set bonus issues. However, how much confuse protection would a set need to grant before people would take it over, say, a set with 5% recharge bonus?

I'd love to see more entirely new sets, too, and not just special super rare ones.

Would this energize more interest in the market? Hmm... maybe.

Afterthought; I'd also like to see new sets (changing older ones would be a firestorm) have the best, and most obviously desirable bonuses put to the max of the number of pieces slotted.

I would love to see:
A Purple Healing set
More Accurate Defense Debuff sets
More Targeted AoE sets
A Purple Slow set
A Purple Luck set
A Purple Resistance set

And enough with the debt protection/reduction bonuses.. I mean debt is irrelevant in this game anyways.

I don't have a problem with suggestions that the devs revisit some of the more useless set bonuses, already mentioned. I wouldn't have a problem with them making snipes less damn common. I am sick to death of Rare snipe set drops off of mobs.

None of that is what came to mind then I saw a suggestion to "revamp" the sets. Nor, personally, would any of that make the market more interesting to me. Sure, it would liven up what's interesting, and force people to re-evaluate niches and such.

That's not "interesting" to me. To me, what was interesting about the market was figuring out how it worked at a basic level, and debating that with posters here. We pretty much long ago stopped finding those topics controversial. While I'm sure there are still people who don't agree about how the market works, most of the old guard have settled on explanations that they find sufficiently functional for how they use it. Introducing new supply/demand shocks into the existing market isn't going to change how the market works, and isn't likely to introduce any new controversy about the same. (It may reawaken some old controversy, but that's not really the same, IMO.)

The only thing that would make the market interesting again for me would be if they changed the way the market actually functioned. But frankly, I don't want them to do that, because the market works for me. As much fun as the market provided me at one point, it was always a means to an end - making characters who could punch face better. Disrupting how it works would disrupt my ability to use it for that, while risking that I might not actually enjoy the modified market itself. I'd rather they kept change elsewhere.

There are a few key features about the market that make it behave the way it does. Such as: seeing only five past transaction bid-for prices but not sell-at prices, limited stack sizes for transactions, the market fee structure, the two-billion price limit, and that sellers keep any over-bid amounts. Probably a few other features I've overlooked here.

Just imagine; how different would the market would be if you could bid on stacks of a hundred salvage? Or a thousand? What sorts of changes could be feasible, interesting, but not completely revolutionary? What if you could see the min and max prices sold at for an item over the past few days? Or a week?

It would be super easy to manipulate the market.
And people WOULD, simply because 1) they could, and 2) it would be easy.

Please note, I'm not saying people would manipulate prices to make themselves rich. I don't think those changes would make that any easier than it is now. But it would make it far easier to simply 'mess' with the market to make other people suffer. And SOME people think that way.
