Voltaic Sentinal as a toggel?

Would that be possible? I found it a small pain to recast it often on my Ele/Kin Corr.

It would be mostly the same, Cast: 3.1s EndDrain:1.07? Attacks every 4s. Random single target.

I might be alone on this but VS is not fully wroth taking due to it going bye bye so fast (60s). It would help make Ele Blast a tad more unique to me. I can settle for a long 'life span' for VS if the above is to hard to do.

So will it become overpowered if it is turned into a toggle
or is it too hard to code
or to many people are fine with it as is.

Sorry for any grammar or spelling errors, writing this up before bed since the idea will bug me till i do. So if you hate the idea speak up and say 'Nay' to my idea and that you like it the way it is.

Certainly, just like all the vanity pets got turned into toggles a few weeks ago.

I don't think it'd be hard to code at all.

Voltaic Sentinel is perma out of the box, so it's not a question of recharge. I don't believe it'd be overpowered if the power was a toggle. (It'd be similar to Lightning Field, except for not being centered around your own position and unable to hit several foes at the same time. You don't need to reactivate Lightning Field every sixty seconds, either. And since the sentinel cannot be targeted, it shouldn't be able to draw aggro.)

On the other hand, don't forget that blasters are susceptible to being mezzed. An aggressive toggle would turn off when you get stunned/held/..., so you would lose the sentinel. This would actually weaken the power. Also, the only archetypes that are supposed to have quasi-permanent pets are masterminds and controllers/dominators.

So, I don't see it happening.

I wouldn't want it to be a toggle as it would likely be shutoff when mezzed, but the frequency which it has to be resummoned is annoying.

These statements appear to be at odds.

I'm sorry for being unprecise. Usually, when the players in our SG talk about powers, "perma" refers to clicks that need to be refreshed but can recharge fast enough to be "on" continuously (like Hasten, for example). "Quasi-permanent" refers to pets that only despawn after their 27¾h timer runs out, so you do not need to click the power more than once (unless you don't need any sleep ).

So, while the two terms look similar, I used them to refer to different things. What other designations would you suggest?

Ah, I see. I might say "everlasting" or "omnipresent" in that case, but in most discussions I think the difference would be moot.

So Toggle problem with Mez ok. Be we can agree that it might need a bit of buffing?

My Ele/Kin is wasting 3s casting VS which is Transfusion and Siphon speed. Most fights hes in last long then 60s. There's no problem with the recharge its just having to recast every 60s that bugs me.

Doesn't the Sentinel actually draw aggro toward you?

Yes. Most, if not all, non-targetable pets and pseudo pets generate aggro for their caster rather than themselves.

A self-centered damage aura would do the same, and attacks would do the same. What I meant was, it wouldn't draw aggro away from you.

OffTopic @ OmniNoGuard: Which is that, a Deceptibot or an Autocon symbol?

Both, It's the symbol when they where ONE race rather the 2. I think it was shockwave in one of the comics that found that out.

Edit:
Ancient Transformer
This ancient symbol was discovered by Shockwave. He claims that although Transformers have been split into two races, they are one species. Generation One

signed.

Having to resummon it so quickly makes me either not take the power in the first place, or if I do take it, it doesn't get summoned enough to be worth taking.

It's 10 Charged Bolts that fire independently of you and cost you no endurance after the initial casting. Not as useful when there are many enemies distracting it, but it's a great DPS boost when you have a single target.

Sure, it takes 3.1 seconds to cast, but how much cast time is 10 Charged Bolts? 10 seconds? Because that's what you get for the 3.1 seconds you spent casting it.

So, 6.9 seconds worth of cast time you don't have to spend to get 10 attacks, and you get 10 attacks that are completely unconnected to anything else you may be doing. If you fire your own Charged Bolts along with the Sentinal you are effectively doubling your damage output.

It's actually a great power for an Empathy defender, they can focus on healing and buffing the team and still get to contribute damage via the Sentinal doing it for them.

What's the problem again?

My personal problem with it is that I would need to use the mouse in order to call it. Moving the hand from the keyboard to the mouse, locating the mouse pointer on the screen, clicking on the floor, and then returning the hand to the keyboard takes some time during which my chara is just standing still. Doing this usually ends in my defeat.

Personally, I do not have any issues with having to call in the sentinel every minute or so. It's just that I'd like the power much better if there was an in-game way to do "mouse clicks" with the keyboard for location-based abilities. (At least a function like "click directly where I'm standing" would be helpful.)

I can't speak for others, but it seems that there are other players who also would like to minimize their mouse clicks, all for their own reasons.

Having to resummon VS does get annoying. I'd love for it to be a toggle instead.

The problem is that Dark Servant does a lot more and lasts 240 secs with a 240 base rech. And don't tell he dies easily.
