Discussion: Get 30 days of VIP Gametime when you recruit a friend to City of Heroes Freedom!

VIP Players can refer a new player or a former player whose subscription has been inactive for at least 90 days. If your friend decides to become a VIP Player and pays for at least a one-month subscription to City of Heroes Freedom, you will receive 30 days of gametime and the friend you refer will get 500 Paragon Points automatically for free! VIP Players can refer friends from the NCsoft Master Account website, or from the Paragon Market.

How to to Refer a Friend from the NCsoft website
1. Log in to your NCsoft® Master Account.
2. Once logged in, click the Game Accounts link.
3. Click your City of Heroes game account.
4. In the Actions box, click the Refer a Friend link.

5. On the Refer a Friend to Try City of Heroes ™ page, enter the requested information. (We'd love it if you personalized the invitation!) We then use the information to send an email with a serial code to your friend.

6. Return to your Refer a Friend to Try City of Heroes ™ page to view the status of your outstanding invitations.

How to Refer a Friend from the Paragon Market
1. Log in to your City of Heroes® game account.
2. Once logged in, click the Paragon Market icon on your screen.
3. Click on the button labeled My Account

4. When prompted, enter your NCsoft Master Account password.
5. On the Refer a Friend page, enter the requested information. (We'd love it if you personalized the invitation!) We then use the information to send an email with a serial code to your friend.


6. Return to your Refer a Friend page to view the status of your outstanding invitations.

Nice that they're offering the free months again, rather than a measly $5 worth of Paragon Points.

I *just* referred someone only a few weeks ago. I would *much* rather get the 30 days time than the 500pp I was given. Sigh.

When you say "Inactive" do you mean not VIP or has not logged in?

Brilliant, the free month was/is a way better deal

Does the friend get an additional 500 points ? or just the regular 500 points that come with a one month sub ?

Does the 30 days of free time count as a regular one month sub for the person doing the referring ? Do they get their regular points, and token ?

Sorry if these questions seem obvious but I don't want to accidentally lie to people because I didn't understand the promotion

You will send the friend a referral. The friend will use this referral, and in the process will re-subscribe, which grants them 400pp (550pp if they are Tier9 rewards).

Then when the referral completes (it's not necessarily the moment they subscribe, it took my account several hours to be credited), you will get 30 days and the friend will get 500pp.

"Real" VIP's don't do Marketing!

Their staff do.

It's a month of VIP gametime, so you'll get a token and points from it.
