AT specific IO sets?

Any word on when these are going to drop?

I've been setting out a bunch of my toons, and I'd hate to blow a couple hundred million on IOs when something better is about to drop.

Wow. I/O coolness that are randomly dispensed via a pay for lottery like system? seriously? And I seriously thought PvP was the stupidest idea I ever saw from CityofX. Well, it was. Until now.

Marketing wise I am sure they will make money, so from a greed based management decision I get it. After all, there are people who will spend thousands of dollars rolling randomly to get exactly what they want. If they want to go this route they should just sell a Boutique level of the game where you pay them 500-1000 for one or two characters. You get a rep who helps you design the thing, load it with all the best enhancers, and 50 it. There, play it. But for the rest of us having a new currency or new toy (AT specific I/Os) put in the game that are only achievable randomly by spending RMT is about as stupid as it gets.

Yeeesh. Well, i guess i can go back to slotting up with the regular IO sets then...

As far as I'm aware they are going to be sellable/buyable off of the market when people get ones they can't use. Whether the supply is there or not remains to be seen.

I've got several characters who are already loaded to the max with complete sets of PvP IOs, Purple IOs, HOs and so on. I'm not saying that to brag as much as to say I doubt my characters would really be considered "gimp" if they don't get many or even any of these new AT IOs.

My main point is that no one actually -needs- these new AT IOs to make great characters and I'm not going to feel any overwhelming need to spend huge amounts of money just to play the super pack lottery to get them. *shrugs*

I'll farm for cash and buy them off the market at market price as they come available. That way I'll be converting something I enjoy (high end game content on almost any map) into these I/Os instead of spending real cash (spending real cash with a .001% chance of getting the I/O i really want at that....)

Personally I think anyone who buys these lottery packs is either rich, stupid, or both.

There's one big problem with the "they'll be available on the ingame markets [Wentworth's and Black Market]" explanation:

There are two levels of ATOs: the Good level and the Best level. The difference between a Good level ATO and a Best level ATO is comparable to the difference between an Orange IO and a Purple IO.

The Good level ATOs are going to be available in the Super Packs and will be listable at Wentworths.

There is also something called a Catalyst that is available in the Super Packs. Catalysts will NOT be listable on Wentworths. Using a Catalyst to convert a Good level ATO into a Best level ATO is the ONLY way to get a Best level ATO.

Therefore, you cannot get Best level ATOs thru Wentworths, you can only get them thru Super Packs.

(Also, just for clarification, ATOs are NOT IOs; they are not recipes that you craft into enhancements, they are already formed enhancements.)

Well I might bother to get what I can of these items in-game and not worry too much about the rest. Like I said before I don't think I'll suffer too much if I never get the few lottery-only ATOs.

I'm quite sure there will be some people who will spend huge amounts of real money in order to get the last few ATOs they want. But the only affect that'll have on me is that I'll be playing a game that suddenly has a lot more money to work with in order to develop features that I'd want.
