That actually sounds just about right to me. Are you thinking that's too far out, or too fast?

Don't wanna spoil it for those that haven't played it, but the third villain arc pretty much says who.

Lol, some of my villains'd agree with ya on that Dechs :P No fun being a godlike villain stronger than Recluse and Statesman (I can dream, can't I? xP) without a little pet hero to toy around with every now and then!

I dunno, I still kinda think it will be Back Ally Brawler. Galaxy City is gone, and unless I am missing him somewhere else in game I havent seen him. Plus he never had a TF.

Who would initiate the Statesman TF? I suppose they could change all that too. maybe they will put BaB there instead.

He shows up in the new tutorial, and in a couple of villain arcs (in addition to the LRSF, where all the other candidates are). He's also one of the signature characters in the art for the new character creator, so he's probably safe just for fact that I don't see them redoing that art. Incidentally, States shows up there, too...

I don't think so. He's pretty much the only prominent black character. This game is white-washed enough as is. I don't think killing him would go over well, and I assume marketing knows that.

That's overly harsh, actually. Calvin Scott is also a prominent black character. I just worry about the overly stereotypical speech patterns of Cleopatra and Nadia.

Also, it's tough to make an ethnically-African face without ending up with ET eyes.

My belief is that Back Alley Brawler is on a "back burner", in a holding pattern, until he replaces Citadel. Citadel, in my feverish world, is the Coming Death. (Like Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation, he is sentient, and therefore alive, and therefore can be killed)

Once Citadel is killed, BABS will become a Phalanxer (officially for real this time), be called from the police station where he's hiding out, and take over Citadel's Task Force.

Citadel will be cropped (quite easily) from all the game with BABS repalcing him.

At least that's the dream I had while drugged up on nyquil.

You know, i hadnt thought of that. However, it also would work rather well as a way to not really have anyone die after all, I mean, Citadel could just transfer his electronic mind into something else.

it would make for another signiture arc where you have to "save Citadel from the interwebz"

Actually i think that was a plot arc from the animated reboot series- one of the main characters was lost out in cyberspace for quite some time.

Yeah, but Calvin Scott isn't one of the Surviving Eight. Out of those, Back Alley Brawler is the only black character.

It doesn't make sense for it to be Citadel, because really, he should have a backup somewhere, unless Paragon Studios plans on going with the whole "He doesn't have the emotional connection" thing like Marvel did with the Vision when they took him apart.

There are only two women in the Surviving Eight, and one of them is already dead (and still around), so unless they want to deal with "Women in Refrigerators" syndrome, Numina and Sister Psyche are probably safe too.

So that leaves Statesman, Positron, Synapse and Manticore. My bet is that it will be Statesman. He's already going to be in an incredibly bad mood because of what happens in part 3 of "Who Will Die", and that's going to lead him making dumb, half-cocked decisions. Plus, out of all of the Surviving Eight, he's got the most enemies AND if it is someone we haven't seen before (no, I haven't played the villain side arcs, as I barely have any villain characters), well, you go after the biggest guy on the block to make a name for yourself.

All that being said, I could likewise see it being Synapse simply for thinking "Naah, there's no way that they could hit me. I move too fast." *BLAM* *DED*

My prediction is that Back Alley Brawler won't die, but he'll have a very nasty and close brush with it.

He'll need to recuperate, but it will result in him being rerolled as his RIGHTFUL powersets: Willpower and Street Justice.

This is NCsoft we're talking about after all. It wouldn't suprise me at all.

First off, it's Paragon Studios, not NCsoft, they're just the publisher.

Secondly, it's Paragon Studios, not Valve.
