Well anyone else see it? Went to a matinee and...it's no 300. heck it's not even Clash of the Titans (original). That being said i did like it better than the new Crap of the Titans. Henry Cavell is going to have to remove he stick from his *** if he wants to do Superman any justice.

It was better than I expected.

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

liked it better than 300....300 practically spit on the history and the traditional tactics of the Spartans

If you went to 300 for the history lesson then you missed the point of the movie.

I dont think its really about that, even though that could have been what the poster meant. I know that for me, its hard to watch movies or TV shows that have aspects dealing with military operations if its not somewhat close to the real deal. Otherwise I find myself unconsciously thinking, "lol, yeah rite...thats not the way they do this or that", instead of enjoying the production. I suppose if you are up on Spartan life/tactics, 300 may have been difficult to watch....idk.

I havent hung out with any immortals lately, so I hope I can get into this

Point. I guess it's like watching a medical drama wiht my mom. Nurse for 30 years. But come on...300 was never marketed as a historical movie.

Very true sir. And it must suck watching any kind of medical dramas with your mom...my mother has always been associated with hospitals in her line of work and its impossible watching anything like that with her.

It was alright. One redeeming factor was the Gods vs Titans fight. That was great. They could've at least named some of the other gods though. The only one that was named was Athena (other than Zeus) and Poseidon/Neptune based on the trident and water motif. It did have an interesting take on the Minotaur though.

One thing that bothered me...the Wall. They put a staircase right up to the top on the interior of the outer edge. WTF? That, and the fact that that corridor was not lined with murder slits and hot oil/tar drop points.

I thought Ares was obvious enough, but in the credits I saw an Aries. <.<

I saw a hammer and I thought it was Hephaestus.

But dude wasn't ugly though.

I don't know why he had a hammer instead of a spear, but he had the right hat.

Maybe he was Olympus Ugly.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Spears wouldn't cause heads to go splat.

The hats were just plain goofy.

Yes, speaking of ugly and hats, we're looking at you, Poseidon...

Well, Heph has a club foot, iirc. And was ugly enough that his momma said, "That kid's ugly!" and threw him right outta Olympus.

Saw it last week. It was OK. Nothing special really, but decent enough action and all. I preferred it to 300, but I actually didn't really care for 300.

About my only gripe with Immortals was the really odd characterization of Greek gods. The "we don't interfere with mortals" thing is way outside the way they are told in the myths.

Too many alts to list.

Didn't they say something along the lines of, "We don't interfere with them in our IMMORTAL forms?". Didn't really say anything, ttbomr, that they couldn't interfere in totality.

Immortal form = bad
Showing up as a goose or a golden rain = acceptable

Yes they did say that. However that still doesn't wash with how the myths actually ran. There are plenty of examples in the myths of he gods taking a direct hand in matters in their divine forms.

Its all about appearing as something else for the Greek Gods when they interact with the commons. SNL did a skit a cpl of weeks ago on the Greek Gods...Poseidon had a habit of humping mortals as a dolphin. Good times...
