What happened to Critical Hits?
I look in the description of my Scrapper's powers (various powersets) and suddenly the 10% chance to critical hit Bosses, etc. is gone from almost every power, but the 5% chance to crit minions is still there. I do see a few powers with 15% chance to crit bosses, like 1 per powerset.
This doesn't seem like an omission so why was it done? |
Apparently the devs want to move scrappers closer to stalker performance in response to Arcannaville doing math to show the difference between brutes and scrappers in damage output was not favoring the brute enough.
In other news, wanna buy a bridge?

It was a stealth nerf not listed in the patch notes.

Edit:Hrm, informal testing was inconclusive. Running at 95% ToHit, I had 2 Misses and 3 Crits over 40 Strikes on a boss, and 4 Crits and 0 Misses over 40 Strikes on 2 LT's... Someone with greater patience than I will/should run the empirical testing needed. However, it is missing from the detailed info in-game. Also, I find no records of this in Patch Notes or a Red Name commenting on it recently... Thinking shenanigans?

Gavin was lying for humorous effect. Real numbers are not always accurate. When in doubt, test.
So probably just an omission in the new descriptions. I just asked because I hadn't heard anything myself.

I wanted to call ********, but I just checked, and it appears so... What in the good gods are they doing? Gonna see ifn' there's a redname with any info on it.

Well, checked on my DM/SD scrapper and it has Fiery Embrace info on there as well. Kinda seems like the info got messed up.
Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
Well, since the 5% crit still says only minions and underlings, and I'm still getting crits against Lt-and-higher ranked enemies, I feel safe saying that this is something like a display bug and not some kind of stealth nerf.

But it was an interesting change of pace from the usual "oh no they nerfed accuracy with this patch" post.

Its definitely a display bug, probably because the devs are fiddling with Real Numbers to handle all the new changes in the game and coming up which Real Numbers doesn't handle at all. When that happens, changes often temporarily break how some of the code interprets some of the more exotic power effects, like effects with a lot of dependencies. Scrapper criticals are one such type of effect.
