Kinetic Combat in Brawl

Okay, I know it's an odd thought. But I was looking at my SS/Invul Brute as he is getting close to time to slot Kinetic Combat's, and realized I was short a melee power to get 5 sets in. And I looked at Brawl.... Now, I'm going for a high end build, and I am playing with some ideas friends have tossed out. The recharge is gonna be good, so that last attack, whether it be Brawl, or the 1st SS attack, or another pick from another pool, it really won't be in the attack chain unless Rech debuffed (er, I think) So, would it be crazy to throw 3 more slots at Brawl, giving myself another power pick and using it to mule KC?

If you have to slots for it, Brawl is a pretty good set mule, especially when it costs you 0 endurnace to use, and recharges pretty quickly on its own.

I'm not sure you'll actually need 5 kinetic combats on an SS/invuln build to softcap lethal/smash, especially if you have tough/weave/tough hide, and the steadfast proc. I think my SS/invuln caps lethal/smash with 4 mobs in melee range (due to invincibility) And i only have 1 kinetic combat set..

If you have the slots to spare - do it.

Save yourself some influence by using the Proc instead of the triple (in brawl).

As was said in Gran Torino, "Your world is nothing more than all the tiny things you've left behind", let CoH be one of those things. Don't forget, forgive.

Good advice. I've never done this and now feel silly.

Boxing could also be used as a mule, as could jab (on a brute, jab on a tanker is far more useful in an actual attack chain, due to the 20% -res) All of them make excellent mules, so you can slot better sets into your harder hittings attacks (like KoB, and Haymaker)

A lot of people do that, on Brawl - I use a Stupefy set in Boxing for the recharge on my SS/Fire secondary build that's just for farming for example, and another in Rise of The Phoenix which are two powers I never use on the build.

Pfft, Smurphy's old Fire/Kin corruptor had a purple set in his brawl for the recharge bonus, if I recall correctly.

Nothing wrong with using it to mule set bonuses.

Yep, not odd at all. Infact, almost all of my toons have done it.

Besides the money savings, the proc is more useful in Brawl. No Brute is using that for damage, but it's often used for Fury building. Having a soft control proc there is very helpful.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

Wow, thanks. I love it when my mind just clicks into the right track. (It is on the wrong track oh so often it is such a pleasant surprise...)

Now I need to do into the hard stuff, like where exactly I want all the other enhancers lol.

Note that if you are trying to slot 5 sets of KC and don't want to take 5 single-target melee attacks, Brawl saves you a power pick. I finally realized this when considering taking Boxing AND KICK on a character to slot another set, and suddenly figured out I could put the slots into Brawl and skip Kick, picking up a one-slot-wonder power instead.

It's also useful in Jab, making every attack in the set capable of KD/KB.
