First Ward: Extra Creepy
So, I went in for the first time this weekend...and I was impressed...and then jealous. Jealous because I wanted to take a Praetorian through on his leveling journey. Except...I wanted to play my regen brute...who wasn't a praetorian.
So I rerolled him and when I got to First Ward again, I felt totally in synch with the story. It is weird, but it is an immersive experience to continue this character's journey from Loyalist to Warden (I didn't do any non warden arcs) to Hero and now thouroughly disillusioned due to events in the first two First Ward Arcs. My only regret is not doing Helix, but well, Warden only. Still I can Ouro an older character to see if there is any recognition. First Ward is unsettling and detaches me from my expectations. The enjoyment has been immense and the Apparitions are sooooo damned creepy. |
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
Absolutely hated the zone for tempting me in with "Save the world!" on my hero and then promptly and repeatedly pointing out how I was murdering people left and right. Seriously, I soldiered through it because, well, new content is new content, but I'll likely never play it again on a heroic character.
My Hero never killed anyone. I don't care what that witch Katie Douglas calls me. My guns shoots rubber bullets!
Still, awesomest zone ever. It tops Striga, Croatoa and the RWZ.
Yes, much like any other zone in Paragon or the Etoiles it suffers from the same "Who are you again?" syndrome. As soon as you leave Praetoria, none of the contacts there remember who you are. The ones in First Ward also have no recollection of you ever having worked for/with/against them. Which is sad.
