Taser

What's the brand name on the tasers that Malta operatives keep stunning me with? It isn't "Crey," but I don't remember, nor have a screenshot.

I think my next tech origin will be working for that company, rather than another Crey experiment.

Um... there isn't one? The name of the power is simply "Taser", and I SERIOUSLY doubt there's a brand name printed on the side of the weapon model. (Besides, don't they use the same animation as the lv1 Taser attack Tech characters get... that is, not weapon at all?)

If I recall, they literally have a handheld taser in hand. The origin power and devices taser involves throwing a taser needle with threads attached at the enemy.

It's a Friggin Taserâ„¢

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

The Devices set used to use the taser model, though. It was changed to the "throw needles with wires" thing when its range was extended from five feet to twenty.

As for the brand name, I do not think that Malta would leave such a thing on their weapons, because that means a paper trail. You do not want a paper trail when you're a secretive conspiracy.

If I were Malta I would probably be making my own guns and devices. Brand names on the guns make them traceable and using modern firearms could also leave a trail to the company that made it. Not to mention Malta specializes in killing superheros so I'm willing to bet too that the weapons they use are built for that purpose. Something most public gun companies wouldn't sell.

Looks like people don't know, so they'd rather tell me I'm wrong that admit ignorance. If folks go kill a Malta Operational Officer Lt with the hand-held taser out they will see. Really, I just should have gone and killed one myself rather than asking. Should have known a bit of obscure grapics wouldn't in the knowledge base of the forums.

You can fix that quite easily. Once you find it, grab a screenshot, and post it here! Simple as pie, really.

I got curious, so I decided to see if I could find it... I got a screenshot of it all right (several, actually), but... yeah, good luck reading that!

I've got texture qualities on Very High... I wouldn't be surprised if the in-game texture is simply too low to be able to actually make out any text. If it is possible, probably the best way is to take a demo of one of 'em with it out and then modify the camera's location until it's as close as possible to it (and straight on, if you can).

Yeah, that looks more like a warning label than a brand name to me. You can bet that any actual such product would be covered with stickers warning the holder that the pointy bits go into the bad guy and you should never, ever use it on your cat, that kind of thing. The same product safety mentality that gives us Caution: very hot coffee!, except with slightly more reasonable intent.

Warning! Pedantry!

Also: The item pictured is not a Taser, it's a stun gun. It's designed to rely on what the beating-people-up industry calls "pain compliance" - making it hurt to the point where the other guy says "uncle". Tasers are ranged weapons based on a different principle - they shoot little darts (like the Tech-origin starting temp power) that cause the target's muscles to stop working momentarily. They're much more sophisticated than stun guns, which are really little more than compact versions of electric cattle prods from the 1940s - about what you'd expect from Malta...

Also also: Taser is a brand name; it's a registered trademark of Taser International. The generic name is "electroshock weapon".

Warning Extreme Danger
Keep out of Reach of Children
[can't read third line]

The first two lines are mixed case, and you can recognize words by patterns of ascenders and descenders.

"Use Only As Directed", I think.
