Best Lich and soul extraction slotting and IO's?

Hey all,
I'm having a bit of problem figuring out how many slots to devote to lich and soul extraction.

I know I don't really need recharge in soul extraction but it makes a spot to put rech intensive pet set enhancements (so that's a bonus). So at least 2 there. But do I want all 6 slots? what do I devote them to?

Same goes for lich whom has heals and holds and tohits which I assume it's safe to say damage isn't all that important with either of these guys.

So any help would be greatly appreciated!

Note my level 50 necro/poison.. He's pre inventions and I haven't played him for quite a long time now.

Fear of Silence - Ninja/Dark MM
Corporate Zombie - Necro/Poison MM
Ardent Cataclysm - Stone/Fire Tank
Angelic Heart - Peacebringer
Maelstrom - Elec/Elec Brute
Novastar - Energy/Fire Blaster

lich is good slotted with tohit debuffs, so dark watchers despair is a good set to go there (i think only need 4 slots for the rech bonus)

soul extraction i would prolly 6 slot, 4 slots for a rech intensive pet set + 2 generic rech IOs

Soul Extraction is a good place to put the unique recharge intensive (+def, +res) IOs. Use the other 4 slots for accuracy and damage, and recharge if you like - 4 more recharge intensive sets works, for the set bonuses.

For Lich I personally slot for damage, but I'm pairing it with Dark Miasma so I'm already approaching overkill on -tohit from that (both from myself, Dark Servant, and stacking it on Shadowfall + 10% def from uniques). I'd consider slotting for -tohit on a less defensive secondary though. Also the Cloud Senses damage proc works nicely on Lich since almost all of his powers can trigger it.

Although neither are exactly heavy hitter damage pets, they still output some damage and personally I like to maximise that if I've got survivability covered elsewhere (and even if I don't have it covered elsewhere, I am really reluctant to give up any damage ).

How is lich for the Damage/Mez and Acc/Mez hamios?

I love the acc/mez in my dark servant.

Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

I never thought of Hami's in Lich..

Soul extraction is best with damage? I thought he was also a rather heavy control oriented pet. The pet rech set io's are definitely going in..

All the recommendations above are all very good slotting perspectives. Regarding the lich's damage, if you go musculature for your alpha and reactive (with the DoT) while slotting for control, you'll see some crazy damage. The lich can control a spawn almost completely by itself. It can be quite impressive.

I copied my current slotting below.

@GavinRuneblade - yeah the HO (Endoplasm Exposure) is pretty comfortable in the Lich. I'm trying to remember who recommended it to me, but whoever did was brilliant.

Actually - was that you??!?!?!

Edit: It was Arcados -- great use of a slot!

Level 18: Soul Extraction -- ExRmnt-Acc/Rchg(A), ExRmnt-Acc/Dmg/Rchg(27), ExRmnt-+Res(Pets)(29), ExRmnt-EndRdx/Dmg/Rchg(29), C'Arms-+Def(Pets)(31), SvgnRt-PetResDam(31)

Level 26: Lich -- Cloud-%Dam(A), Cloud-Acc/ToHitDeb(34), Cloud-ToHitDeb(36), Cloud-Acc/EndRdx/Rchg(36), HO:Endo(36), SipInsght-Acc/ToHitDeb(37)

He gets an ok single target melee range hold (8.94sec mag3, unenhanced at 50) that also does decent damage (more than his other attacks). Besides that, he gets a weakish spammable long range attack, and life drain (old unbuffed version, does same damage as the spammable but with four times the recharge).

So not especially stellar in either role, but I'd say he leans more towards dps with a bonus hold than he does towards control with bonus dps.

I have my lich Hami'd. And because I want a full set of Call to arms in Soul Extraction, for the recharge bonus, I put the last proc in the lich.

My soul extraction has the Call to arms proc and the three enhancements with recharge components, the Edict of the master proc, and the Expediant Reinforcements proc.

The Lich gets Two Peroxiomes, a Nucleolus, an Endoplasm, an Enzyme, and a Sovern Right.

First off sorry for the late reply - combo of crazy work and second occurrence of the forum lock-out bug.

Doe the extracted soul, I don't think either approach is wrong. It's more that it is one of the few powers that takeaway the recharge intensive pets set. So it is moreadvantageous to use that opportunity in that power. Functionally, the extracted pet is kind of like a tank as well. Ok- That's an overstatement. The extracqwed soul can at least take care of itself and reduce incoming damage to both you and your permenant minions. It used to be able to survive on its own after the mastermind face planted. Don't know if that is still true - haven't died when or was still up in some time to check.

What did you decide to do slotting -wise?

I have 3 ACC/MEZ HOs in Lich (his damage is pitiful so I don't bother; he only has one actual attack and it's minor damage). Since he has hold, immobilize, and fear you max out 4 stats with 3 slots.

SE I have:
Expedient Reinforcement: ACC/RECH, ACC/DMG/RECH, END/DMG/RECH, +RES unique
Call to Arms: +DEF unique
Level 50 recharge IO

This gives the power 47.75% ACC, 42.2% DMG, 21.2% END, and 96.7% RECH. You also get both of the recharge intensive bonuses (important if you aren't Storm) as well as 6.25% global. The ghosts aren't that high on damage but it's nice to have the recharge as high as possible.

Not that I expect it to change anyone's overall stance on the subject, but he actually has two attacks - his Tenebrous Tentacles does damage equivalent to e.g. Buckshot.

Meh. I still focus my Necro/Dark more on the debuffs and mezzes than damage. She's the only char of mine so far I'm not going Reactive on. I also snagged Void, but going to go the debuff tree.
