In the I21 Live release notes this bit of information was included:

Access to Cool Features

This is a revamp of how and when players access the cool features of our game. In an effort to make these features more accessible, we re-evaluated their availability:

Auras are now available on the Paragon Market (they were previously only available at Level 30 or via the Astral Merit vendor).
Capes are now available on the Paragon Market (they were previously only available at Level 20 or via the Astral Merit vendor).
Ouroboros is now accessible at Level 14 (previously only available at Level 25).

If this is in fact true, the text in the Market should be updated to include the Astral Vender Auras and Capes as well. Also, include the chest emblems and costume change emotes as well please.

If it is not true, it should be removed from the patch notes or a target date put out.

Sooooo.....is it true? Can the Astral Merit Auras and Capes Unlock be purchased at the Market?(before I spend the points on the Aura unlock )

Thanks

-Doc

Yes its all true.

Edit:

Sorry I misunderstood. The unlocks available from the Merit Vendors are now purchaseable from the market.

The ways to earn cape and aura unlocks in-game are per-character, ie, you do the mission and unlock on that character only, or buy an unlock, and can redeem it on one character only.

The unlock in the store is permanent and account-wide, ie, you spend $2 once, and every character on your account, past, present, and future, has access to capes or auras (whichever you purchased), from level 1 up, regardless of what content has been completed.

The specific capes and auras (and other costume parts) available from the vendors are not available for purchase - just the early unlock of capes and auras.

Thanks for the replies people. I'm going to purchase the unlock hoping to have access to the Astral Merit Auras instead of waiting until I have the Merits.

Thanks

This doesn't get you the Astral Merit auras. It gets you the Generic Auras that you could unlock either by doing a mission at 30 or buying an unlock in game.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to explain. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.

Not sure what you are hoping for because I am a little confused. Purchasing the aura unlock will give all your characters access to the basic auras plus purchased auras at lvl 1. It will not give them access to Astral Merit auras or other reward auras they have not earned ingame.

Capes: $2
Auras: $2
Pirate Costume temp power: $7.50

Hmm.....

This must be a day of poor clarity as I feel I was unclear in my original post. Lemme see if I can get it right. I understand the unlock works on all toons for the original auras and capes, however this was listed in the release notes, I copy/pasted it:

[[Access to Cool Features

My query was because it says right there those items from the Astral Merit vendors are included in the unlock. Unless that language wasn't clear to begin with. Maybe my question is more easy to understand now.

Thanks

No, it is saying that TO UNLOCK AURAS, you had to do a mission per-character at level 30 or buy the unlock per-character from the Astral Merit vendor. Now, TO UNLOCK AURAS, you can do a mission per-character at level 30, or buy the unlock per-character from the Astral Merit vendor, or buy the Aura unlock from the Paragon Market for your whole account.

It's not their fault if you think it's talking about the auras themselves. It's an aura unlock. Therefore it's talking about unlocking auras.

Yes. The reason that they list the Astral Merit Vendor in there is because the Astral Merit Vendor offers an item for sale that grants a one-time, one-character unlock of capes or auras, as if you had done the mission already, even if you are too low level to do it.

In essence, the item is the same as what you can buy on the store, only single character instead of account-wide.

You cannot purchase any of the Ascension Armor costume parts or auras in the in-game store, only from the Merit Vendor.

Thanks for the clarification you two. Sorry if I sounded thick or difficult, that was not my intent. I think the language in the notes is a little misleading. No worries.

To clarify:

* There was a mission at 30 to unlock "auras". This gave you the standard auras.
* The astral merit vendor could also unlock "auras". This gave you the standard auras.
* The astral merit vendor could also give you special new auras, which were not the standard auras.

The patch notes are saying that the standard auras -- those which can be unlocked either by a mission or by the astral merit vendor -- can now be unlocked in the store. There may be other auras which can be unlocked by the astral merit vendor, which aren't included.

So:

* The auras which can be unlocked in the store can also be unlocked at the astral merit vendor.
* However, not all auras that can be unlocked from the astral merit vendor can be unlocked in the store.

Say, if we buy the unlock, do we still get asked to do the unlock missions?
