How many links to the store do we need?

I count buttons on the main menu, the enhancement screen, the crafting screen, the costume creator, and two big 'ol buttons on the main game window that can't be hidden or turned off. Bit much, don't ya think?

Yes, I get that it should be presented to F2P customers at all time since that's going to be NCSoft's primary revenue stream from 'Freedom'. However, VIP customers are already paying customers. We don't NEED buttons on the screen that we can't hide or get rid of to encourage us to spend money.

Can we, VIPs, please turn the screen real-estate-eating buttons off?

Dang! They CAN be turned off! Thank you guys for pointing out the options. I spent quite a bit of time looking for them last night and never saw them.

Maybe it's just me but that general tab is getting really full of stuff. I've gone in there looking for something that I know is an option and spent far too long looking for it before. Heck, once or twice I've completely missed it and had to go back to the forums to find out exactly where it is (turning off the blinking email thing for instance).

I've always had a very hard time skimming through a list for something though for some reason.

I couldn't find the option to hide them either. Although I don't mind having the buttons on the main screen, there are an awful lot of store buttons everywhere.

Yeah, I didn't find them the first time I looked for them while in beta.
Then I saw a Redname confirm that they existed, went back and finally found them, hehe.

I find the Market buttons here to be much less obtrusive than the ones over at the game about the short people and rings. There are 2 there on the main screen and you can't turn either one off, although to be fair, they are also not free-floating like the Market button is here.

I feel like the whole store thing has a lot of links to it, which I don't like. It's one of the main problems I had with a couple other F2P games, every time I open a new screen I've got the "spend money on this" button showing up in my face. This isn't as bad as some of the other games, but honestly I think a link in the in game menu, one that's an optional part of the UI, and one in the char select screen should be enough. I don't need one in the costume select screen, in the costume creator, the crafting screen or anywhere else for that matter.

Just kinda ruins it for me when I feel like every screen is trying to get more money out of me.

I got rid of the buttons. Now I just access the store through the menu.

Ditto.

Which I cannot do in The Other Game With Rings.

Yeah, as much as I am someone who despises in-your-face marketing and the like...

I feel like they did a good job with it (Or, at least, I am happy/content with the level of visibility).
Except for the store being part of the tutorial......

Allowing us to turn off the buttons is another sign, to me, that this is still the Paragon Studios and City Of Heroes that I can love.

I'm not complaining. Originally, you HAD to "buy" that badge to get out of the tutorial. That means that if the store server was down, you literally couldn't get out of the tutorial.

To the devs: Thank you for changing that!

We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)
