What do i do?
I, too, am on OSX 10.5.8, and can no longer open the NCSoft Launcher. I receive a prompt:
You cannot use this version of the application NCLauncher with this version of Mac OS X. |
@Winter. Because I'm Winter. Period.
I am a blaster first, and an alt-oholic second.
Same problem, can't log into game at all
Same here. No idea what to do now.

Same version same problem. I posted in the "other" mac thread that has taken off today but the pre-teen fight in there has hijacked that thread.
Wash: "I've been under fire before. Well ... I've been in a fire. Actually, I was fired. I can handle myself."
Update: I was unsuccessful in an attempt to re-download the NCLauncher from NCSoft's website, thinking that perhaps downloading and installing fresh would help.
This really is not the problem I want to have the day before VIP Headstart, haha

RougeStar, Aquathing (and now the other two that posted while I was writing this), are you both also on 10.5.8 as well? Anyone on 10.5.8 that isn't having this issue?
Did the NC Launcher, for some likely insane reason, drop support for that version?
I'm on 10.7.1, and I don't have this issue... I'm betting someone thought it would be a good idea to block such an 'old' version... (wonderful timing, NC!)

I'm running 10.5.8. I tried checking for software updates to see if it's something on my end that could be the problem but no luck.

Based on a (tiny) amount of Googling, I'm thinking this is not due to the NCLauncher itself checking what version of OSX you're using, but an error reported by the operating system. I'm gonna guess that that they're doing something that requires some APIs/functionality added in 10.6, and not in 10.5.x, and the OS is seeing that it requires 10.6 >= and aborting (I've not done much development on the Mac, so not sure exactly how it would bring this about).
Hopefully they'll be able to fairly easily fix this... Although, I'm fairly certain you all will have to reinstall once there's an update, since the self updater would obviously not work if it can't start.

Until then... TF2 anyone? :P

Something new just happened. I can now get on and play CoH beta but can't do the same with CoH and CoH Test.
Keep getting this message for CoH, and CoH test
"Download Failed! Error-File doesn't exist (null)"
"Downloading File cider-COHR-Updater-006998.tgz"
I can still run/play beta if I ignore 'do you want to update' window
What gives.
I won't guarantee this will work, but it might be worth a try:
1. Right-click the NC Launcher application and select Show Package Contents, then double-click Contents.
2. Open up Info.plist by dragging it to a text editor like TextEdit (it's in your Applications folder), BBEdit, or even Xcode if you have it.
3. Change the value below LSMinimumSystemVersion to 10.5.7 instead of 10.6.
This may cause the NC Launcher to crash if they didn't just forget to change the value back before compiling it.

You might win a whole bunch of internets, i'm almost done downloading the patch.

The game launcher is asking me to update, so i did, and now it's telling me that i can't play the game anymore. I have mac os x version 10.5.8.
Is there a simple solution to this? if not how long will i have to wait before there is a fix, or am i going to have to cancel my account?
