problem with instaling COH and going rouge.

hears my problem. i have the retail copy of COH good vs evil and going rouge the complete collection. i install GvE first then i instal going rouge complete collection. i go to launch the game. the launcher never shows up so i uninstall everything and reinstall everything again still nothing. try launching it as administrator, still nothing happens. i go to the COH website and to find out that i had to download a new launcher so i did, let everything patch, launch the game only to come to find out that it diddent even recognize that i installed going rouge so i reinstall going rouge again and it still diddent work. any help or should i contact support. by the way i have ad-aware and spysweeper as my anti viurs

Quick question: Did you add both the codes to your City of Heroes game account at the NCsoft account management page? There is only one client for the game, what determines whether you have access to various game features is whether you've applied the various codes to your CoH account.

Remember to apply any/all codes to the same account. Unless you're planning to play on more than one account at a time.

If you bought the "Going Rogue : Complete Collection" it will have one code in it.

I can't tell you where, but it should have one in your box. I myself got the digital copy (via NCSoft Store for one account, and Steam another). Popular places in the past have been in the CD sleeve and in the quick start guide.

As for installing the game - there is *one* client, and the NCSoft launcher will just read it as "City of Heroes".

P.S. - It's rogue. Rouge is a) a word for "red" and b) a makeup of that color.

In case if you're still looking for the code, it should be in the "Quick Reference Card" located on the lower left. Make sure to UPGRADE your account also and not accidentally create a new one.

As already mentioned all retail boxes come with the code printed on something inside the box. With MMOs, and most other online games, the code is the important bit that enables the extras for your game account. That's why you can just as easily buy upgrades and add-ons for online games digitally as you can in a store.

*locates and checks inside Good VS Evil box* The game code for the Good Versus Evil edition is under a scratch-off strip on the back of the Pocket D VIP Pass that comes in the box. The back of the VIP Card says "City of Heroes Good Versus Evil Edition Serial Code Access Card" on the top and the scratch-off strip is at the bottom.
Edit: Go to your NCsoft account management screen and use the code to upgrade your account. This will unlock the goodies on your account and give you 30 days of subscription time. Do not use it to create a new account. Since you already have an account you should always apply codes as upgrades to that account.


By the way, this is also why it's never a good idea to buy a used box for an online game. Any code that gives bonuses or play time can only be used once. No honest retailer will resell an opened box for an MMO type game since it's generally no longer usable, but there are a few chains/stores out there who do it anyway. Just a warning of what to watch out for in the future.

Nope. We're telling you it DID come with a code. Open the Quick Reference Card (a multipage fold-out) and the code is on the left side. It's labelled "Serial Code". Go to the CoH site, to the area to update your account, and upgrade your existing account with that code.

Whether you buy the retail box, or off the NCSoft store, what you're actually buying is the serial code to apply to your account. The DVD is just a piece of polycarbonate with a pretty picture on it.

Did you apply the codes from both GvE and GR as both of them grant different extras and both come with a month of play time included - Play time stacks from both so you should have two months included in total.

"Stage 2" just means that it has to download more stuff.

There's an incremental downloader now. It tries to download just the stuff you need to start, then it allows you to start with the character creator and tutorial while it continues to download stuff in the background.

Stage 2 is just the background downloading. Let it run some more and you'll get it all eventually.
