City of Heroes Website Maintenance - August 4

We will be performing a maintenance on the City of Heroes websites between 1:00 p.m. PDT (4:00 p.m. EDt / 9:00 p.m. BST / 22:00 CEST) and 5:00 p.m. PDT (8:00 p.m. EDt / 1:00 a.m. BST / 2:00 CEST) on Thursday, August 4.

As a result, you may be experiencing intermittent outages and may be unable to access our North American and European City of Heroes websites.

Please note that our Going Rogue websites and Official Forums will remain unaffected by the maintenance, and you be able to access them normally.

We will keep posted on our forums if anything were to change during the maintenance.

Thank you all for your understanding and patience

Not sure if troll or just unobservant.

I'm just mostly confused because I thought the maintenace day was Tuesday. I purposefully waited until my day off today so I could subscribe and play this morning instead of Tuesday, haha.

Is this just a random error or did the change the days?

<sigh> Well, I guess I'll have to try riding the hairy edge of copyright infringement another time...

What really irks me about these sorts of issues is the total lack of communication about the game status. I understand that there are always unforseen problems when changes are made to a system, and it can easily take longer than expected, but that is no reason for someone not to take a few moments to tell the customers what the heck is going on!!!

The regular Maintenance day has been Thursday for quite a while now. Seems like over a year, possibly 2 years. It may even be longer than that.

Since it's during work hours, I don't pay attention to the regular maintenance window.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

MMOs suffer from "Ghosts in the Machine" - code interacting with other code and hardware in ways that CANNOT be /foreseen/.

Even if it is, continually, things that they cannot foresee?

And you cannot always (rarely, in fact) foresee a part failing.
