BMT rules?

What are the rules?

Plain and simple/black and white? Now that Ping is Back I have always heard that the rules have been passed down from him, however whenever the new mod is on that person has a different interpretation. (Sorry not naming names)

Example: When Ping is on, conversations and chatter are laxed....game content and non game content are both discussed. TF's to farms are being called out...easy no issues. Ping isn't on it's the new Mod's interpretation of the rules.

Rules are rules I understand that, at least when a certain blue guy was on he gave you a warning before silencing unless it was a blatant violation. Not because he didn't like your conversation. Ping please post so everyone in channel can use as reference.

You know, I'm surprised it took this long.

For reference. As this sounds more reactive, then proactive.

Weird.

I agree. Now would be a good time to clarify the rules.

There has been a transition, no doubt. Over the past two years or so, BMT has evolved into its own culture. It has been a channel focused on server activities, a source of information, help for new and returning players, teams, badges, etc. For the most part, it has been kept on task. As someone once put it, it's the 'get **** done channel'. As such, it is unique amongst the many more socially oriented networks on our server. Many people have been invited to the channel during this time and have become accustomed to the rules of the channel and how it operates. The driving force behind this culture was undoubtedly Cobalt. I personally appreciated his efforts, respected his rationale behind the rules, and felt he tried to be as consistent and fair as possible while upholding them. Whether you agreed with him or not, at least you knew what to expect.

Whether the recent changes are for better or worse, only time will tell. In the meantime, the new rules should be clearly articulated as to not contradict BMT members' experiences over the past few years.

I have six other active options that were listed in another thread, so I rarely even use the channel OP referred to anymore, it's a meh issue.

If a new influx of players results from the new FTP model where are they all going to go to, not to that channel, because it's loaded near the cap with a large number of dead accounts, so the modding choices, or whatever, will be even less an issue as active players fill up other global channels.

Variety of channel options works for everyone.

This is bein' resolved with a command fix. That was one o' the things I was runnin' down with the Devs.

Yeah but people tend to not look at the good that was done.

I asked Matt about this on vent in beta last year while we were doing the first Keyes run (myrm was there, & died repeatedly), he said something about theOcho and that it's on a list qol issues.

Btw, for the inevitable kiddie tugOwar over this topic, a channel's a channel. Fun happens whether you get it through TankHQ -DarkGuard -Champions Unleashed or the active private options in game, a trial or tf runs the same wherever you hear about it and there are more legitimate active options now then in recent memory.

Vary options, have fun.

Yeah, I was one o' the people that had Ocho put it on the list, and I've also been in contact with both Zwillinger and Avatea about it, and they've assured me that it's still on the list.

I had no idea at the time that using a damage proc in Taunt would get me killed. Alot. Its pretty funny now, but it most definitely was not at the time.

THIS would be one of the best QoL features in some time if they get around to adding it.

Just to make sure we're clear, I have nothing but respect and gratitude for the way Cobalt handled the channel for the entire time he was a Moderator and retiring was his choice, not something I wanted.

I have nothing against Cobalt, I just did not like the was he handled the channel, and when the time came to either take it over or leave, I chose door #2. Besides, my Tell He'll gets bad enough that (this might be the shocker for some ) I didn't feel like dealing with the whining that might result in it.

No that he is no longer an Op, I will be more than happy to help out. Global channels are there to allow people to find teams and enjoy themselves, not be moderated into oblivion. The moment this is again, I'm gone.

All of this piddly server drama needs to come to an end.

First, you would've failed. Secondly, you chose #2, then #3, which was that you started your own channel. This basically comes across as, "If I can't have my way, then I'll go somewhere else." Which sounds exactly like another dramawhore on the server.

The vast majority o' the whinin' came from people who were moderated and rightly so for breakin' the rules. And I didn't step down due to rampant complaints. The reason I stepped down is between myself and Ping, to whom I explained why and while he didn't want to see me go, as he stated himself, he respected.

BMT wasn't moderated into oblivion. It that were true, people wouldn't use it anymore versus the less dedicated, more social channels out there. Last I checked, it was still very much active.

You mean Champions Unleashed? Mama D started that channel, not me. I merely joined the channel to help moderate it after Budweiser complained in his channel about how much he hated the way that you moderated BMT, then turned around and did the same thing in CU. Outside of that, it had absolutely nothing to do with you. You only kept BMT because I GAVE IT TO YOU. Just because you believe that you have all of the answers doesn't make it the truth.

Honestly, you've created more drama on the server with BMT than I am capable of, however, you go ahead and color things however you like. You always do.

Keep tellin' yourself that.

Oh, that's not really true. The drama that's attached to me is public. The shenanigans you pull aren't, but that doesn't mean that word doesn't get around.

Before you start pointin' fingers about drama, you may wish to take a look in the closet and see what skeletons you've got in there.
