Conclusion to War of the Green Lanterns *Spoilers Ahoy*

According to Newsarama, we're going to get a 2-issue War of the Green Lanterns Aftermath miniseries.
It appears to be more about, well, the immediate aftermath of the war.
Guardians are wondering why Sinestro gets a ring.
Lanterns are wondering why the Guardians kicked Hal. And if they can kick Hal, what of them?
Lanterns in general wondering about Sinestro.
Are the Guardians still fit to run the Corps?

Also, I thought Ganthet was a Blue Guardian now. Or did ne have to return to the Green and leave his new love with the Blue Corps?

If I recall Ganthet resigned from the Blue Lanterns and became the GL for Oa

Ganthet and Sayd have shown that the Guardians can tap any of the spectrum energies if they wish. They easily shifted to blue after being booted out by the Guardians, Ganthet then becomes a GL near the end of Blackest Night (why does a Guardian need a ring?), while Sayd become teh Guardian for Larfleeze and was last seen looking a bit different due to the orange power.

Here's a thought: Saint Walker tosses Hal a Blue Ring in the hope that he becomes leader of the BLC, despite the fact that blue rings cannot create constructs or fire beams unless a green ring is nearby as hope needs will to fully act. (Blue can still fly, heal and communicate without green). Hal takes the ring and makes it work by hoping to one day become a GL again, reclaim his ring and deal with the Guardians and Sinestro. However due to his formidable willpower, Hal can make the blue ring fully functional and fire beams and make constructs. Remember, Hal was able to make constructs out of the red energy when he was taken by a red ring so he can conceivably fully power a blue ring. Guardians cannot forcibly remove a blue ring as we found out when Hal had one, so that puts him beyond the control of the Guardians and able to fight them.

OR: Ganthet creates new green ring and battery for Hal that is programmed to refuse all commands from the Guardians and sends them to Hal. Hal is again a GL, the Guardians can't just yank his ring away and Hal is able to deal with them.

OR: Parallax makes an offer to Hal.....but I can't see Hal being so fearful over what happened or so enraged that he would accept hosting Parallax for the 4th time.

OR: Hal is so furious that a red ring finds him.

OR: the ION entity decides that the Guardians have lost their way and are no longer fit to guard the universe and merges with Hal to give them the needed power to fight them.

Atrocitus did make a prophecy that the Guardians would strip Hal of what he loves most and that Hal would rebel. Well aside from killing Carol Ferris, the only other thing they could take from Hal is his ring which they have done.

The Guardians technically took Carol away from him by her now being the Queen of the Star Sapphires (Since the Zamarons are an offshhot of the Guardians, like the Controllers). Another thing about Hal, I thought I remembered Geoff dropping in an interview that there would be someone who will be wielding all the different power rings at once?

Well Krona was wielding all the rings in the final fight with Hal, and Hal still blasted him. To me that makes the green power of will the strongest of the spectrum but ONLY when backed but a strong and unshakeable will such as Hal's.

Hal has wielded: Green, Yellow (both parallax and rings), Red, Blue and been exposed briefly to the orange energy when he grabbed the battery and then used the orange ring to help get Parallax out of the CPB. I don't recall him wielding violet and indigo.

Could Hal wield all the rings at once? Quite likely, if he can host Parallax a few times, get sueprcharged from the CPB a few times, wield the other spectrum powers and host the White Entity in the final fight of Blackest Night, then yeah he could.

I think though that instead of Hal being like Marvels comics Mandarin character with a different ring on each finger, that a new spectrum ring is created for Hal that can tap into and wield any of the spectrum energies that the wearer needs...including the black energy, though the more the black energy is used the greater the chance of Black Lanterns arising again.

Hal Jordan: Spectrum Lantern! Join us for the exciting new direction of a beloved character!

During his travels with an alien or whatever. I haven't read the entire arc, but it was implied that the GL power was himself and that the Ring is just a focus and a way to bring more will from one spot to another... This is hinted at several times and is apparent with the guardians that they wield whatever "power" they wish, not because they're special but because they know how.

The reason why Ganthet wears a ring in this case would be to have the extra power draw from the CPB.

Nah, that's Sinestro's job. Then he'll be... Mandarinestro!!

Yeah, I was one of the few who kinda dug the Iron Lantern comic that came out of the second run of Amalgam titles.

I guess it's fun to speculate and even indugle in some fanboy wish fulfillment by mapping out our own plots but we are not the writers.

I am just personsally frustrated. DC is getting too much like marvel. Seems they're not happy unless they're screwing with their most beloved characters.

In my mind, Hal just got back in the saddle and was finally back to being what he loved most. Now they have to go and jack him up again.

FFS

Can't you just let him be GL for a while??

Actually, that was a very interesting time period. I really liked Kyle's run for the most part.

Until Judd Winnick turned it into Terry, The Gay Intern, guest starring Kyle Rayner as Green Lantern.

I myself liked most of Kyle's run, however what I didn't like was WHAT WAS DONE to Hal and the GLC/Guardians to bring Kyle into the GL Mythos. Emerald Twilight was such utter shock value junk. I saw the original plot/script for Emerald Twilight and it would have been better to have gotten that.

Still, I thank Geoff Johns for straightening out the whole mess with GL:Rebirth and keeping Kyle alive and part of the GL mythos.

That was a pretty short side story and the controversy was larger than the actual intended impact to the comic.

That's for sure. I remember the controversy/fallout well. Kind of surpassed Northstar of Alpha Flight coming out of the closet.
