Exit question, the first trailer for next years The Dark Knight Rises is debuting with this movie, did it look worthy of 2008's TDK..

That doesn't necessarily mean anything. I'm about as geeky as they come, and I had no idea what HP7 II meant either. :P When I saw the thread title, I thought it was in reference to a new HP computer. :P

FWIW, I very much doubt I'll see the new Harry Potter film, as I have never seen any of the earlier ones. They may be good, but just not my cup of tea.

Same here. I contemplated watching them or reading the books, but I've never taken the dive thus far.

I skipped the 3D. Roger Ebert said it just made a dark movie darker.

I should have done it before this one came out, but now I'll go back and marathon the series.

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

3D is overrated. I've yet to find it enhances my enjoyment of a movie. Plus, as someone not used to wearing glasses the ones you have to wear piss me off.

Still a gimmick, IMO.

Avatar was THE movie to watch in 3D.

Yet you drew the conclusion that 4 letters and a number meant the new Harry Potter movie by relating it to a picture of a girl(and I use that term loosely) wearing some sort of outfit that resembles a Hogwarts uniform and one of the weirdest excuses for a magicians hat i have ever seen...without the use of a wiki?

I've told you before, Cherry, being a closet geek does not mean you aren't one.

I saw it and thought it was good. Really the only issues I had with it were the issues I expected to have because they were the issues I had with the seventh book and the way that Rowling chose to end the series.

Actually, I felt the film did an admirable job of working within that structure. I was curious how they were going to pull off the transition to the big screen and I don't think there were any major lapses I would really complain much about. Yes, as with most of the other films there are huge swaths of the narrative missing but I think whoever did the screenplay did an admirable job not only of choosing what to keep and what to drop, but also how to make Rowling's ending somewhat compelling (lacking magic in the real world, you can only do so much with what you are given, after all).

I enjoyed HP7, although I would have liked some parts to be more like the book, but I understand it would have made it like 4 hours long. I never read the books. Books on Tape FTW.

As for 3D, I'm not impressed. I went to see Captain America today, and it turned out it was in 3D. Still looks like a few layers of 2D image cutouts like with the blue, and red glasses my parents used when they were kids.
BTW, Cap was awesome! I can't wait for the Avengers movie.
