New Radio/Paper mission type: Deathtraps
Do want. It would make me do Radio missions again, knowing that anything could be a setup.

I really like it. To add to it, if you survive the Deathtrap, the boss you encounter could be a new contact since you survived his/her test.
@Joshua.
Fame is a good idea too, the point is there should be some additional reward for a mission type designed to be a bigger challenge.
Keeping this bumped up because I really like the idea, and I kinda want more opinions on it.

Question for the OP, have you seen the hero morality mission where the map is entirely filled with pop-up guns and proximity bombs?
I like.

It would probably get boring after a while, if it turns out to be the same scenario every time. So, a few more scenarios:
1. The goal is to defeat the end-boss. As your fighting him, you are hit with wave after wave of ambushes. ( Survivor )
2. The goal is to rescue someone. When you rescue him - halfway back he turns on you and again you are ambushed.
3. Any goal - you are hit with random ambushes throughout the mission. Even better would be new maps with sliding secret doors and/or trapdoors where ambushes pop out. I've never been a fan of current ambushes where you can hear them coming from a mile away. I'd even like maps where you fall through trap doors into another level or into a jail cell.
4. Wouldnt hurt to occasionally have a surprise appearance by a well known AV, such as Nemesis. EB level of course.

I like this. It's like the enemy has been tipped off that your coming and has run to the hills but not before leaving a trap behind. (the trap can be anything from loads of /Traps traps or bombs planted with timers etc.)
The random chance needs to be a fair chance so it doesnt happen all the time or too little...but i support this.
I like it, though it reminds me that, among the many things our own villains can't do that proper villains can, we can't lure heroes into deathtraps of our own. Which is probably because it doesn't fit into the Standard Gameplay (lot of waiting around and gloating involved in deathtrapping heroes, and not much wandering through bizarrely-laid-out warehouses/caves/sewers punching things), more's the pity.

Yesterday whilst rampaging across the Rogue Isles, I cam across an interesting scenario. I had a paper mission to steal the Sea Lute from the Tsoo, so without half a thought I went on to do my business. But as I reached the last room and opened the door, a Boss was waiting right in front of me. He said it was all a trap! I was taken quite off guard, but took him out with the usual method of fists to the face.
But it struck me as differant. I've never fallen into a random trap before, it acctually caught me by suprise and in this game that's no small feat. But it was a bit lacking as far as traps go, and in the end the Sea Lute was there as advertised. It could have been much more exciting, much more threatening. What if the item in question was never there to begin with, and I was instead jumped by 20 Tsoo at once? What if the game had suddenly decided it was time to test my limits and acctually try to kill me for once?
Then it hit me: Deathtrap missions. A random chance that an existing radio/paper mission will instead be complete setup. Now, I know what you're thinking, it's not very fair right? Well, that's why you make it a part of the existing difficulty system. Add an option: "I do/do not wish to encounter Deathtrap missions." The downside? Deathtrap missions are designed to be a major challenge, and you are unable to leave alive before all threats are neutralized. The benefits? Enhanced XP/Inf rewards, maybe a small amount (1-2) of merits.
What say ye?
