Hello everyone and salutations. I would say I don't usually do this but, frankly, I never do this. I've been a CoH player on and off the past 7 years and am currently hard into a stint of enjoying the hell out of this game.

Anyways, let me get to the juicy part. I saw a build I fell in love with on the forums for a WP/KM tanker. It's a soft-capped defense build with crazy regen (almost 750%!). I set out to make the build with my 1 billion inf and hit a major road block. I only have 250M left and I a missing a humongous portion of my IO slots!

I fear I will likely run out of that 250M this very evening buying a few more IO items. (NO PURPLES PURCHASED!)

The sad part is - the set I am missing, I didn't realize until I had already sank almost a billion into this build, is that I would need to sink almost another billion in the attack slotting.

Kinetic Combats. The bane of my existence and easily the most expensive low level set there is. Each piece costs like 50-150 million on WW's.

So, I figured, what the hell. The adult CoH community is pretty nice. I figured I would ask if any SG has any Kinetic Combat's sitting in a bin somewhere collecting dust they'd be willing to part with.

I'd be willing to trade farming your alts for a bit! I have a +4/8 fire farmer that is incarnate and can clear pretty quickly.

Oh, also looking for a friendly active SG if you're in the neighborhood.

Take your farm toon and grind out tip missions. You will eventually have the hero merits you need to get your kinetic combats.

If you are too lazy to leave AE, roll bronze ticket rolls and kinetic combats are available that way too.

Well, you asked for smal help.

If you don't have Going Rogue, but have merits, exchange 50 merits + 20 inf for 1 A-merit. Exchange 1 A-merits for a Kin Combat recipe.
You can do this over 4 days, and you have your set.

Hes gonna need 2 A-Merits for a particular "one" rescipe of that set. The one that buffs 3 aspects. The rest cost 1. One or two are availble via bronze rolls. Roll in the range that has number "35" in it. One post on the boards long ago claimed it's the smallest pool to try to get lucky from for it. I have no reason to distrust that having succeeded often getting them. Don't get too excited about re-selling them after... they only fetch 20 mil- ish. The knockdown procs are a cheap way to complete 4 till you can afford the 2 A-Merit or 80-120 mil influence on the market tripplestat buff ones. Probably end/rec/dam I wager. Don't quote me... but it's a tripple.

Cheers! And good luck. I have 4 sets meself so far on my brute... and a full mocking beratement set and some other lethal/smashy boost and accidently some other damage types. It is so much easier to boost my possitional def toons though I tell yah... So much easier. Grumble...

Also run Weekly Strike Targets and Task Forces a lot on your toon. My husband loves that set for this tanks/brutes, and he does not farm. But he has easily gotten the pieces for at least 12 Kinetic Combat sets by running tip missions, TF's, WST's, etc and trading in regular merits for Hero/Villain Merits and getting them that way. And agreed, if you're going to do random rolls for recipies, stick to the 35-39 range. Less crap, and a better chance at good stuff you can sell (or use!) to get money for what you want.

I once saw a build that cost 15 billion Inf.

I swooned, then went back to playing my way. My most recent 50, a DA/DM Tank, might cost a billion inf once I'm done...maybe.

[insert paragraph about point of diminishing returns]

That said, I know I'm a little recharge crazy on my main and have sunk over 2b into her, but then respecced to a cheaper, more survivable build. My kat/wp scrapper is the econo of econo. Even if I purpled her out, it wouldn't make much of a play difference.

Though a Gladiator's Armor +def would be pretty swank.

If the OP knew how to play the market, he would have taken all that inf and made the cash to buy the KC w/i a week. There are several untapped niches, or perhaps they are tapped, but maybe people aren't selling. I've been buying mid-level basilisks on and off for months and just storing them. Also keep a standing bid for low LotG 7.5s and hoard them. The profit over time is slow, but it makes respeccing easier on the pocketbook.

I just kinda ignore Inventions. I purple up Turg back in the day, haven't bothered to do it for any other to on. Too expensive to wory about it. Easier to focus on Incarnate stuff and craft purps that drop at random, then store for a rainy day.

Still sunny here. :-)

There is 3 ways you can get them, I have a lvl 50 WP/Kin tank and the only influence I spent on it was crafting the recipes like stated above AE tickets in bronze, the A-merits, and finally the reg merits. I do lot of TFs to get the merits which can get me the merits, and I just purchase them instead of rolling and taking a chance. That is the problem with the AE tickets, the A-merits you have to wait to get another while you can purchase the whole set if you get enough merits, I have.

Another alternative if you can cap AE tix fairly quickly is to roll silver 30-40 recipes and craft them. Based on my experiment, 9999 tix of crafted silver 30 rolls net about 200 mil of profit after sales.

Take your profit and buy kinetic combat recipes which are cheaper. Also, sometimes the lvl 30-34 recipes are much cheaper than the lvl 35 ones.
