Good Community
Hi Pinnacle!
For the past few weeks, as most of you have probably noticed, the forums (and the CoX Life Discussion forum in particular) have been rife with controversy surrounding current and future game operating, progression options, and reward availability. In those many topics, people have gotten into some very heated arguments over their particular views, trying desperately to (at least) clearly illuminate their point of view and possibly to convince others to change their mind. Some people have acknowledged the opposing viewpoint, others have conceded and given up their arguments, and still others remain adamant that they are correct while no one else is. It has resulted in some topics that are extremely interesting to read, whether it is for an actual evidence-based debate that is taking place, or simply the comedic value a flame war of epic proportions. I have played on and off since 2007 (due to other obligations), but have only been a full-time subscriber for the past year, and my forum activity has increased since. I have noticed that many of the names that I see here on the forums are names with whom I have teamed, at one point or another, on Pinnacle, and I have to congratulate the lot of you. As with the forum community as a whole, many of your posts have been written from very different viewpoints, and vary in intensity. Some of you have appeared down right ready to start using the bat smash emote on each other, yet I log into the game and I see everyone teaming together. I myself have been very passionate about some of the issues being discussed, and have butted heads with a few of you in various topics. Not only have we managed to keep our responses to each other civilized ("we" meaning I and which ever one of you I happen to be responding to), but I can log into the game and be invited to teams and leagues by many of you, without any sign of ill feelings. I recently made a post on one of the aforementioned topics about how communication breeds community, and I find the manner of communication in which we as a server operate, both in-game and here on the forums, is respectful, open-minded, and at the very least, tolerant. Even if you may be left seething by someone's ideas here on the forum, I have yet to see someone use those feelings as a reason to exclude someone from a team invite, and that is commendable in the gaming world. Civilized communication has given us a pretty civilized server, full of a lot of people who are willing to help one another, both newb and vet alike. Essentially, I want to thank the Pinnacle server community for being one that prefers to take the high road. I have very much enjoyed my time here, and I hope to continue teaming with you all in the future. Ya big ol' group o' drunks! |

I agree completely with the OP; especally with regard to how it applies to in game teaming and especially with incarnate trials. I'm working on getting my fourth toon on the server "t4'ed across the board" with available incarnate powers. I mention this, not looking for some sort of pat on the back, but to suggest that I have made quite a few trial runs in the process (most very successful and a few, particularly early, that were not). Throughout, I've been very impressed with the knowledge, patience, friendly spirit and willingness to team on Pinnacle. I am not in a large SG and do not have a well known reputation to most in game. That does not seem to matter and is a credit to my fellow players.
Like many, I have some rather strong opinions on the entire end game and its implementation. And I know for certain from reading the forum that not everyone on Pinnacle agrees with my point of view. But I would like to thank the people on Pinnacle, especially league leaders, for making my end game playing experience so pleasurable.

The moral of the story? The best way to enjoy the game is to stop reading the forums.
We get along with most anyone that shows some competency and does not take at least three 8 minute afk breaks in a trial.

Huzzah!
It's just too bad there aren't more of us. I've been away for a couple of years, and the server population has really dwindled. It's kind of hard to make out a full team for those in the level 20s and 30s anymore.
Of course, perhaps part of it is that there's a lot more reason for heavily-alted people in the mid-range to play their 50s rather than their lowbies, what with incarnate stuff and all, but still, there don't seem to be that many new players on their way up, and that's a shame. I hope that CoH Freedom will bring a few more new faces our way.
Pinn is to low pop to continually it eats own young. That said, piss off the community and good luck finding a real team.

That is probably the main reason we see so many jacktards complaining about how lower population servers are dead and they can never find a team. It's not dead, they've just pissed everyone off already and no one wants to team with them anymore.
The OP is dead on. And it is the main reason I have stuck with Pinnacle as my main server fro so long. I like the people here.

Awwwwwwww, you love me, you really love me!
...also, it's the reason I keep coming back to Pinn; it's my home, it's where my heroing career began, and I'll leave when they box up the hardware.

Pinn was my 2nd server (started on Champion for the 1st year), but I've been on the drunk server for six years and I'm not going anywhere else. I mean... all my stuff is here, right? I don't want to leave my stuff! Plus, I like the drunkards. I'm one myself on occasion, and no one makes fun of me here (well, not for being drunk at least).

TL;DR, for my esteemed server-mate XFUNK down there: Pinnacle has a very level headed population that makes people feel quite welcome and treats them with respect, and I'm commending everyone on that.
