With incarnates finally ice tanker can kill somebody?

What is the best combination for an ice melee? Best to kill of course!

I always wanted an ice tank, but always found them very weak, they spend little endurance, but did not kill anyone, with the incarnates, who now will be going?

When Ice Melee was buffed, I think that is when their kill speed increased nicely, but primarily for AoEs and minions/Lts. Lore pets and Interface can sure help them against single targets.

My Fire/Ice tanker is only Alpha slotted so far, I am still trying to figure out where I want to take him. My Ice/Ice is still in the 20s, very enjoyable, but nowhere near thinking about incarnate stuff. I really like Ice Melee, it is my favorite tanker secondary and I'd love to see a scrapper version of it soonly.

I have a 51 Fire/Ice/Pyre Tanker that eats minions and can farm fairly well on 54 Fire Farm maps. He's at the softcap for S/L damage as well. It took some work but he's a durable little bugger now.

If kill speed is all you're after, pairing Ice Melee with Shield Defense or Fire Armor is likely the best option. After that I'd consider something with a damage aura like Dark Armor or even Ice Defense.

To increase the damage of an ice tanker:

REACTIVE. You have a damage aura and 'ok' AOE attacks. You want the 75 percent chance to proc fire. You want it, you need it, you gotta have it.

Judgement: Ionic does the most damage but is prone to failures. Void is the most defensive and by far easiest to use. Cryonic is thematically appropriate and has a VERY long range, if you can learn to use it as an opening salvo, it's perhaps the best of them all.

Pets: The cimmy's do maximum single target damage, warworks do nice st and some AOE.

Now get out there and destroy!

I have an Ice/Ice/Soul and it is definitely a minion/lt mower. Bosses take a little longer until you pick up an epic attack to fill out your single target attack chain (nooooot GIS). Darkest Night stacks nicely with CE against AVs, too. Don't really need the -tohit because my tank is already softcapped and can hit the incarnate softcap with a couple uses of EA.

I'm using Cardiac Core for my Alpha for most of the time I'm playing but I'll switch to Spiritual Core when I do AE farming (have my own ambush farm that has ice wielding foes - yay to Ice's 100% slow resistance!). Destiny is Rebirth Radial to have another heal along with Hoarfrost. Judgement is Void Radial for the -dmg to stack with DN and CE (total of 85% debuff for the duration of Void). Lore I'm using the Seer Radial pets (the one with the untouchable buffer) but I rarely use them. Interface I'm using Reactive which has increased my damage even more and am thinking about crafting Paralytic for more -dmg for general teaming.

My Icer can tank just about everything in the game without issue. Defense is defense, so bad RNG rolls are bound to happen, but otherwise he is a solid tank for everything. Farming is pretty decent as I can do my farm at +4/8 in about 6 minutes.

The trick to ice melee is to just focus on bosses while letting your AoEs decimate the lower ranks. Single target attacks are wasted on them after you get FA. Enhancing Frost's range to about 14' is also a huge benefit, too (made possible for me by posi's blast, a common range IO, and Cardiac).

I don't have his build on this pc, but some highlights are 82.5% global recharge, over 1% hp/sec regen, 2583hp (I think), perma-Hoarfrost, and softcapped s/l/e/n. Has seamless attack chains when I'm doing single target or mixing in my AoEs.

I always wanted to do a Shield/Ice melee/Ice mastery tanker. I thought I would look nice with the Shields ice graphic. Been trying to get my Buddy to team up and make a fire melee/ shield/ fire mastery scrapper with fire shield graphic and start an elemental shield team...lol

I think part of the issue here is that tanks in general arent about killing things fast. They are about surviving things thrown at them. Certain combinations will have a faster rate of defeating foes that others ( particularly shield and fire armor ) but in general they arent going to kill a bunch of stuff really really fast..

With Incarnates you can add the judgement power which will help that a bit.. but its not up all the time like a regular attacks. You can use Reactive to increase the damage you do. You could use Lore Pets as they dish out their own damage as well..

But IMO if your all about killing stuff fast.. Tanks arent that AT..

SunStroke was made in honor of my nine month old Son. My main tank is my Fire/Fire/Nrg called Heatstroke.. so I made SunStroke in honor of him... again Gratz on your expecting birth !!!

I was thinking of a willpower(do not spend a lot of endurance) or invul with ice melee, but with shield should be a way combination is great for a thematic character.
