Morality issue
I've been caught out too. I joined someone who said they were doing Villain Tips but it turned out to be Rogue. I petitioned but they said they couldn't do anything about it. Really needs an opt-out option!
I'm not sure that I see the issue. Yes, doing the morality issue gave you a fame point. But it also counted as a hero tip, and filled your meter partway. If that filled you to 10, then the Alignment mission will still drop for you - those don't care about your fame points. And in doing your Morality Mission, the guy who joined you would have gotten his first "Hero tip".
It's all working as it was designed to, and I have no idea what you're complaining about.

The only way this could have impeded the OP's progress is if the team member was actually running a different alignment, in which case OP could have ended up with only 9 hero points.
As long as the bar is full, the Morality Mission *will* drop - it just might take a few more mobs.
I'm guessing that the OP wasn't aware that it counted as a regular Hero tip mission. So, yes, it takes up a fame slot, but it also counts toward your 10 required Hero tips, so it is no different than running a regular hero tip.
We had a group running Hero Tip missions and someone new joined our team. The newbie already had 10 hero points and wanted to run his morality mission so that he could be earning new points with us.
We did his morality mission and to my horror everyone on the team got charged a fame point. |
which meant I couldn't finish my 10th mission for the day and do my own morality mission.
|
Since you can do a morality mission with a full set of five fame points it seems silly that if you have less than 5 fame points you would get charged a fame point for helping someone else do their morality mission.
|
Morality missions count as doing a tip mission of that type. That, as I said, was a player requested feature that the developers added.

100% working as intended. Actually working as player requested.
If you were at 9/10 hero points and did someone else's hero morality mission, then you would be at 10/10 hero points and the next alignment tip mission dropped would be a morality mission. You might not know, but you can dismiss a tip mission to "free up" a tip slot for the morality mission. Morality missions count as doing a tip mission of that type. That, as I said, was a player requested feature that the developers added. |
For the OP the only way this could affect you negatively is if the new player's morality mission was different than the path you were working on... for example if he did a Vigilante morality mission while you were working on Hero missions. Otherwise you simply got credit for another hero tip and are now ready for your morality mission to drop.

Hmm. I've never seen that happening, but then again I've not run a lot of tip missions since Issue 19 launched.

There is, or at least seems to be anyway, a bug where if you're teamed sometimes you simply cannot get a morality mission to drop. By quitting team temporarily I've always gotten it to drop in a minute or so... sometimes after 5+ minutes with the entire team sweeping for it with no luck.

So technically, you could have 3 tip missions, 2 morality missions, a left over halloween tip mission and Mortimer Kal tip mission all at once, right?
|
The question is if Halloween and Kal tips are counted as standard tips or not, if they are then I'd expect them to follow the "3 tips at once" rule.

I know I have had 3 tips and the Kal tip before but I don't have anyone with a Halloween tip left to check that too.

I can confirm that I had 3 regular, plus 2 morality, plus Kal at once. And on another character I had 3 regular plus halloween plus 1 morality (was a hero so couldn't get Kal).
None of my villains got the halloween tip when it was available.

Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

Morality missions should not cost you a fame point whenever they are done, since you get nothing for them if you don't have 10. You are just being anti-team by having it this way. Why join a team that isn't in the exact same place in the fame points.
