Buying NPCs to base!

I wanted to suggest the possibility of "buying" NPCs to base!

I think it would give something more, because you do a base, but never see anything in it! It would be interesting to have the chance to put npcs sitting in a chair, sofa, Standing, etc ...

With this, also diminish the appearance of "empty" at the bottom.

Even cooler, it would mirror the states, example: I logout my char, I appear as an option to the constructor of the base put the database somewhere doing something when I logged into this "mirror" disappear!

When I log out again, would automatically appear in the SG as it was before.

I think it simply would add a huge potential for events, roleplay and screenshots!

Regardless of where I have logged. I think it would be easy to implement even this simple idea.

What do you think?

Hugs, for all and sorry about my english!

I think this would be an ace idea. I am aware that somepeople get serious lag in base with a lot of objects in, this may increase that lag, but I would still love to log into my base and see holo-characters.

Oh, never say "I think it would be easy to do!" That's just asking for it.

That said, suggested before, and aside from what BVS mentioned above, I wouldn't mind seeing it.

Oops, really, it might not be so easy, but it would be great!

Heck, how about even a Vet Reward "claim base items : people !" Several standing, sitting, posing, pointing to the door... maybe from existing groups - huge eyeball rularu dude floating by the door ... Skuls standing by the safe....

Hm, here's an idea; if a character is logged out at a supergroup base or base portal and is earning time for their Day Job, why not have them appear at the Supergroup Base, hanging out at random? Wandering its halls, or lounging on chairs, leaning against walls, or summat.

I could get behind the idea of "buying" NPCs to populate our bases, though; but I would love to see offline characters as NPCs in the base if they're getting some Monitor Duty time in.

Both could be done! Supergroup members could appear if they're on Monitor Duty, and other kinds of NPCs could be "bought" for livening the place up.

I mean, who else is gonna man all those cubicles we can buy?

I would love to see NPCs in the bases. . .

NPCs like trainers for leveling up, traders representing the market, a "monitor/dispatcher" type for radio and paper missions from the base.

I would also love to see other mundane staff, like janitors, cleaners, repairmen and technicians. (A teleporter tech manning the controls of a telepad for example!) They really don't have to be all human either, robots, aliens, holograms or whatever!

Good to see positive responses as fast as that!

Would they take into account the suggestions and ideas posted here?

SO MUCH THIS!

As a solo SGer, it would be comical/awesome seeing my alts walk around the base.

It would be better still if they interacted with emotes.

@Rylas

Kill 'em all. Let XP sort 'em out.

I actually called them "hiring" when I suggested it a few years back.

Ok, that suggestion is pure genius, someone give this guy an internet I would keep my guys logged off at bases all the time just to be able to see them hanging out.

Also, I know of a certain club/disco room in a SG that would greatly benefit from having NPCs chilling and dancing inside. DJ Zero would get jealous of the setup, methinks.

I'm all for the idea of having your characters hang out in your base whenever you log them off. Basically, any character in the SG that isn't online at the time has a chance to show up in the base. However, I think there would need to be a selectable "approved emotes" list for us to choose for them. I wouldn't much care what my characters do when I find them on others in my base, but some people might get bent out of shape if they were to see their character doing ;dance2 when their character *always* uses ;dance4. Stupid example, whatever, deal with it. Some people are like that and would actually get upset by it. So, as long as we have some control over what our characters will be doing when found in the base, I'm all for it.

Agreed.

This idea seems awesome, though I'm not sure how hard it will be to implement seeing as the SG base system has been collecting dust for quite a while now.

If you have already taken similar idea and no interest, means that part of the forum so serves no purpose, since they do not look for good ideas that post as well and approved by users.

: (

A pity, I deluded myself thinking that we could some how contribute.

It might not be that the devs had no interest, but that they couldn't implement the idea at the time. Over time though, it could become easier for them to develop (if they aren't already) if the tech supports it.
