lf vengeance macro/bind

hey all,
my dark/dark defender is looking for a way, preferable all in one stroke, to target a dead teammate, execute vengeance when in range, while also telling that same dead target to stay there and target a mob, AND execute howling twilight at that dead target's target.
I should also mention that i have a G110 logitech keyboard....sadly i still have no idea how to start this bind/macro.

Also, if u should know of any usefull macro's/binds for a (mainly teambased) dark/dark defender, i would accept them gratefully

A macro like that flat out CANNOT be done with the game engine. To do it with something like the keyboard you have, you'd have to set it up to execute the commands one at a time, with appropriate delays. Unfortunately, I can't give you step by step instructions, since my gaming device is from a different company, so the instructions are doubtlessly completely different.

I don't think there is a mechanism in the game for targeting a "dead" teammate. As for the rest, what Roderick said.

powexec_name Vengeance$$targetcustomnear friend defeated teammate may work. I use a variation which doesn't use the "teammate" bit and fires off a rez power instead.

Rez power such as [Empathy.Resurrect] will auto target a dead character (though it won't limit it to a teammate). Vengeance, unfortunately, will not.

I couldn't get powexec_name Vengeance$$targetcustomnear friend defeated teammate to work in one keypress. When I put the Target command first, it would sometimes work in one keypress, sometimes not. A second keypress would get Vengeance to go off on either one.

On a logitech board, you will want to edit the macro (or maybe use the block text option I noticed recently, haven't use it yet) and add a small (I use a 25 milsec or .025 second) delay after the slash. The game otherwise just catches the "/" if you do not already have the hat window highlighted. Something that was first noticed around issue 12 I think.

Don't forget to "enter" while making then macro either.

On the flip side, the OP does have a macro-key possessing keyboard, which can therefore set out each command separately on one keypress. If no one has a "working model" by then I'll see what I can come up with after work.

Just to check - the targeting command by itself works?

While I didn't specifically check the targeting command by itself, I did target my dead teammate every time I pressed the bind. I would specifically either have no target or target an enemy first.

You might be able to get it to work more reliably using bind files but it probably still wouldn't fire 100% of the time on the first key press. It's not something I have tried with this type of bind though.

making 4 separate binds makes sense, as i can easily make a macro with those on a logitech board.
Just have to test if the dead teammate target works,
I would start out with sending the tell, execute vengeance, then a separate bind for target nearest enemy + execute howling twilight. So 3 new binds and combine those in a Gkey macro. Sounds doable to me. Thanks all, will come back with test results

EDIT : just come to think of it: most of the times i hand target a dead teammate, its really hard to find him too, is there a bind/macro to go to him? (Dont know if "follow" works from far)

If the dead teammate is within sight, the above mentioned TargetCustomNear command will target him. Follow will work from any distance but won't move you around any obstacles.

Doesnt look like i can make it work with one bind. As stated above, sometimes it targets a dead teammate; sometimes it doesnt; it never executes the vengeance.
This is what i did
/bind numpad1 "follow$$targetcustomnear defeated teammate$$powexec_name vengeance$$targetcustomnear enemy alive$$powexec howling twilight"
and this is what happens WHEN it does accept the dead target command
follow and then immediately execute howling twilight.
Im thinking to make two binds and make a logitech Gkey macro of those two
/bind numpad1 "follow$$targetcustomnear defeated teammate$$powexec_name vengeance
and
/bind numpad2 "targetcustomnear alive enemy$$powexec_name howling twilight"
maybe i should even insert a /tell in between those two binds to have enough delay or something?

If you want to use a G-Key you would basically want to type this while recording a macro :

/targetcustomnear defeated teammate
<press enter>
/powexec_name vengeance
<press enter>
/targetcustomnear enemy alive
<press enter>
/powexec "howling twilight"
<press enter>

and after you make it add that very slight delay (default is half a second, edit it from "500" to "25") after each "/" and it should work fine. If I can remember I'll see if I can't get some help testing it out to tonight on my D3

They deliberately made the stack for powexec commands 1 deep, so if you put more than one in a bind only the last does anything.

In my experience, the delay is usually only necessary between a targeting command and a powexec. You certainly wouldn't need a delay between the binds, but might need one within each bind.

Also, due how the commands are read vs executed the binds are essentially read from right to left. So your attempt at a one-key would have it using howling twig light first.
