Request for an official statement on Shards/Threads

I am seeing a LOT of posts in different parts of the forums about peoples desire to see:
A) 1 Incarnate drop type (Shards or Threads not both)
B) Allow better conversion rates
C) Allow NOTW/FOTW to be converted into Rare/Very Rare Thread Components (N/FOTW mean nothing to most after unlocking a T3/4 Alpha or 2 [the current N/FOTW conversion rate is pathetic]).
D) Guess work/theories/etc about what the future will need
E) Ridiculous cost to buy Rare/Very Rare Thread Components (100Mil/400Mil)

What I would like is a RedName to make an official statement to put an end to these such as:
- Shards will have a future use for ?? - we will keep the Shards/Threads seperate because ??
- We will not allow better conversion rates because?? (we need an extra INF sink for those few that have too much INF? Well the rest and majority of us thank you)
- etc

These issues are more than just "I wish they would give us more Powerset Proliferation". These issues have a LOT of posts and the community is passionately talking about it.

To be perfectly fair I suspect the Devs themselves have not come to a final decision on many of these points yet. While they clearly have some long term plans about some things other aspects of this game are, for lack of a better phrase, made up as they go along.

I'm sure the Devs will continue to evolve this game and tell us about important changes when they come up. Otherwise don't expect to ever "pin them down" on anything they don't have answers for yet.

I don't see why the rest of the abilities can't be created with shards. An incentive to run trials? Probably. Not like I care for them regardless, but I've got shards burning a hole in my tights.

I believe the main reason Judgment, Lore, Interface, and Destiny cannot be created with shards is related to what you said right there: a lot of people have a lot of shards. It seems they were trying to avoid having people run the trials enough time to unlock the slots and then being able to create all their desired abilities with their saved up shards. Anyone who wanted the new abilities ASAP was going to have to farm the hell out of the trials upon release.

The Devs have made it clear that they want the process of gaining incarnate abilities, and especially the top tier abilities, to be a slow, drawn out process. I think, by the time the next couple slots are released, we should expect to see something else that will keep people from just using saved up shards/threads to create the new abilities. I, for one, sincerely hope it IS NOT another round of new salvage.

I thought polls and posts calling out the devs were against the forum ToS. This thread, then, doubly so. Yes?

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

You know shards can be converted into threads, right?

Yes, of course. And I suggest the OP does just that if he is still looking to craft certain abilities. (There is the inf. cost that's involved, but my opinions on that are off topic for this thread.) My point, however, was that if the Devs had decided to keep shards as the universal component while keeping everything else in place and not creating Threads, many players would have had a head-start in the slot-acquisition process and/or power creation process.

An example: Replace "Incarnate Thread" with "Incarnate Shard" in every current conversion that involves Incarnate Threads. Upon i20 going live, there are players who could have unlocked at least the Judgment and Interface slots simply by converting Shards to Incarnate XP. I'll bet there are players out there who would then have enough to craft abilities for those slots too. Within 10 minutes of logging on after i20 going live, you would have people with new Incarnate abilities. (I know people had T4s very soon after because they ground their way through trial after trial, etc. etc.)

Long story short: it seems the Devs simply wanted to place a slight hindrance on the population of players who had amassed a large amount of Shards between i19 and i20.

...And? Seems reasonable to me. For a level 50 who actually plays the game (wild concept, I know), 2.5 million is a pittance. As far as the time restriction goes, see Winterminal's remarks.

I'd like to see threads to shards conversions but I think the current system allows accumulation in all areas so as you play you get variety to craft from. For example, I've used merits of all flavors to move ahead. Conversion rates could be better but I'm moving forward so I'm not really complaining. My biggest beef right now is the lag in the zones and players getting bumped/dropped.
