Reinstalling today and am curious as to some suggestions on starting back up. Any particular things to avoid/watch for? Am scouring sites now to catch up on all the new things!

Usually the best bet. Also, you can check the ParagonWiki Issues page to look through the various updates.

Praetoria is a good spot, if you picked up Going Rogue. It's kinda of like a big lvl 1-20 tutorial. Can help bring you up to speed on some new stuff.

Make sure you take the option to run the Invention Trainer which will open up for you at lvl 10. Will give you the run down on the new system pretty nicely.

Anything else your not clear on, or just need to ask a dumb noob question, Jello Shooters is still out there, don't forget to put it in a chat tab so you'll see it!

Welcome back Doogie. As far as where to start, I agree Prateria is a good place to start. The morality choice missions are a fun twist to the usual slog. Plus you can decide to take a blue/red side only AT to the opposite side without having to run the tip missions.

I am taking my sig to MWO and MWT. Let them wonder what it means.

I'm sure you'll get lots of people already helping you out, but if you need a fallback option consider joining the N P C channel. 150 mentors and counting

I also recommend joining Protector Vigilance, if you weren't already in it before you went on hiatus. Calendar and Twitter feed also ofered.

Links in my sig.

So... got a new 50 yet? It's been 2 days, what's taking you so long?

Welcome back!

Welcome back.

Roughly when? It helps us to give you the information you need in a manner you can absorb.

If you left a year or two ago and are coming back now, while there have been big changes they can be outlined fairly easily.

If you're asking "What's a Mayhem Mission?" and "Patron Power Pools?", then you're going to feel like the law firm of someone suing IBM.

Quote:
Lawyer: We need documentatio...what's that beeping?
IBM-Lawyer: The truck with your documentation.
Lawyer: All that?
IBM-Lawyer: Yup. Where do you want the OTHER 12 trucks to park while you unload him?
A good starting place to see "what's new" with a general overview is the Issues page at ParagonWiki. It has every issue to-date listed and linked. This way you can see what was the last issue you were present for. Then you can proceed to read up on what's new.

If you left about the time you stopped posting to the forums, that'd be about 6 years...

If so, while the game is similar to the one you originally played, it has had so much work done that it may as well be a new game.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Protector Vigilance wasn't around when he left.

Welcome back! Best suggestion to see just how many changes you've missed is to check out Paragonwiki first then decide on what kind of new toon to roll.

Failing all of that, I'm sure some sucker, erm, kind soul will help ya in Jello Shooters, which is still around. Now get cracking, there will be a quiz later!

Welcome back!

I'm not sure its necessary to start a new toon, but any old toon you play will definitely need to be respecced. The biggest changes are Invention Origin, Inherent Fitness, and (of course) Incarnate powers.
