How to get a Patron Power when I have a APP?

I have a lvl 50 blueside brute with a APP pool. I want to ditch the APP and get a patron pool.

1) Can I access the patron as a vig or do I have to go villian?

2) Will the parton dude talk to me and let me run their arcs if I have APP's?

3) Have to I get the patron pools?

4) Do I have to do the resepc redside and slot the pools or can I go back blueside and then respec the patron pool in?

Thanks for your advice; I haven't ever done patron stuff before.

you have to be full villain, the guy that give the arc that unlocks PPP will not talk to you otherwise.

Once your a villain he will talk to you and give you the arc even with EPP's

Once you've done the arc the PPP's will unlock and yes you will need to do a respec, but no you do not need to do it red side, once you unlock the pools it remains unlocked even if you go back to hero side.

You have to be a Villain or Rogue.

Yes. I did this with a scrapper who already had Body Mastery. I ran Scirocco's arc just to get the badge. Remember to talk to Arbiter Rein first. He introduces you to a patron.

3) Have to I get the patron pools?
um, what? Do you mean "How do I"? If so, talk to Arbiter Rein to be introduced to a patron. (He's standing in front of Recluse's tower in Grandville.)

4) Do I have to do the resepc redside and slot the pools or can I go back blueside and then respec the patron pool in?
This one I can't answer for certain as I have not tried it, nor have I done a respec on anyone who had unlocked a patron pool. It should work no matter what side you are currently on, but I can't say for certain.

Once you go Villain (and then Rogue if you want), you need to do the first arc of any one of the Patrons.

Once you do, you unlock all PPPs, even if you go back to being Hero; they're all unlocked forever.

When you complete that arc, you also get another Earned Respec. They stack. You can use it anytime by visiting a Respec contact even if you turn back to be Hero. Though, I think only the redside contact will talk to Villains and Rogues and the blueside to Heroes and Vigilantes.

If your looking to do it as fast as possible I'd recomend Black Scorpions patron arc. It tends to run the fastest by a good measure.

Just to note, you cannot be a Rogue or Vigilante and do the arc to give you access to PPP. You must be a Villain. Standard content contacts do not talk to the morally grey.

Um, no Agge. In terms of contacts, Rogues are treated as Villains, and Vigilantes are treated as Heroes. Therefore, you can be a Rogue and do any standard Rogue Isles contact. Similarly, Vigilantes can do any Paragon City contact. If this were not the case, Rogues and Vigilantes would be restricted to Radio/Paper and Tip missions for all leveling. A character visting the opposite side is restricted from normal contacts however.
Regarding the Arachnos Patrons and their storyarcs, a character must be either a Villain or a Rogue.

Derp. I don't know why I said "Rogue or" there, I think maybe I was starting to say something else and changed my mind. Brain fart there, I blame it on posting while mostly asleep. *heads off to bed*

Before you switch to villain side, go through your contact, and finidh any story arcs you currently have open (or at least most of them). When you switch over, any open arcs will be inaccessible, but will still count towards your "open arc" limit. Since the Patron Arc is a major arc, you could find yourself blocked from running it, and then be forced to go back to hero, clear arcs, then back to villain afterwards. Better to save yourself the potential headache.

Note that the Patrons aren't available via flashback, so you can't get the badge (and thus, the powers) that way - you have to do it the regular way.

Adding to what they said, if it doesn't matter to you which badge you get for completing a patron arc Black Scorpions is, in my experience, the easiest and fastest to complete. Finishing any of the arcs unlocks all of the patron pools now, so it doesn't matter which powers you're after when choosing a patron.

Question:

Did you level this brute as a Praetorian, or did he start out as a villain?

Because if he started as a villain and you moved him blueside after level 40, you are likely going to kick yourself when you realize that you could have done the arc before you crossed over....and would have saved yourself a weeks worth of tip mission running.
