Severely Broken Tileset: New Big Warehouse Room with Pics!
I have my settings on low and I have always found that particular room, (there's another like it), blinding. It does look a lot better at the medium setting.
I do hope they fix them soon. I have no problem with the way the rooms look (on medium), they just drop playability by a lot everytime I enter them.
As an aside, I notice that everyone keeps refering to them as "new warehouse maps". I had always assumed that they just added a couple new rooms and tossed them into the random mision generator. Are these actually supposed to be new maps? Because the rest of the warehouse looks the same as always.

There is nothing left to answer,
But your photo in the frame.

The old rooms were reskinned and a few new parts were added. Besides the two new open warehouse rooms you have the new hallway rooms that cut back and forth for no apparent reason than to block line of sight.

I've always thought that the problem with the New Ware House Maps was that it's so laggy.
My Lego Models http://www.flickr.com/photos/30369639@N07/ lemur lad: God you can't be that stupid... I'm on at the same time as you for once, and not 20 minutes into it you give me something worth petitioning?
Lady-Dee: Hey my fat keeps me warm in the winter and shady in the summer.
There appear to me to be two separate problems... I am not sure to what extent they are related. (For reference: I run CoH on an Inspiron 1720 dual core 2.4Gz with an NVIDIA 8600M GT card. Because of poor performance I never run with Ultramode on.)
Problem 1: Relates to exactly the above as posted by ZM. I'm running along through the warehouse with no problems and zero lag when I turn a corner or open a door into one of these rooms, and the moment the scene comes into view my FPS plunges to near-slideshow. It is somewhat worse in the larger versions of the same room, and also somewhat worse if the room has a large number of mobs in it. To fix the problem, I need only turn my view to look out into the hallway. FPS restored.
Problem 2: In all of the Praetorian lab maps there is a quite perceptible increase in lag. This is true everywhere in the lab. It is worse than that observed on occasion in Arachnos bases. It gets substantially worse in the large rooms that tend to end the maps...rooms with many consoles and capsules. One way I can tell how bad it is... when I'm superspeeding in the "Find the Exit" portion of several missions, I have a horrible time with smashing into walls, equipment, and the sides of doors because of frame jumps. This also includes some of the long linear rooms with computer equipment down the middle. In passing, I will say that a similar slight lag increase is present in aboveground Praetoria as a whole, and varies markedly from place to place. This occurs whether the area is full of mobs and PCs or not. The underground and most of the underground sewer maps in missions are a bit better. None of the lag described in this section is nearly as bad as that seen in problem 1.
I can handle the lag that I get in Problem 2. It's annoying, but I can play through it. (It does make me not want to play in Praetoria or run any missions that use Praetorian maps.) In contrast Problem 1 is a real game-play wrecker. I've been known on my brutes/tankers to simply roam near blind through the warehouse room trying to attract as many mobs as possible and pull them out into the hallway so I can fight them properly.
Please address this. I've seen many threads on these issues with no dev response to date.

I received word that a fix for what I posted about is already in the pipeline. Yay!
(I don't know if it addresses Praetorian lab maps... I haven't seen that problem nor tested for it.)

The blinding white was also a severe issue with hallways in the Praetorian lab maps. I think those were fixed? Not sure.
And I do hope a fix happens for these new warehouses happens soon. Anytime I play, my FPS is floored and I'm rendered incapable of doing anything unless I zoom in and look straight at the ground.

I hope they also tweak the updates they did on excisting warehouse maps. I haven't tried without UM, but it's pretty annoying at times.
Oh yeah, I also hope they make those choppers you see on praetoria warehouse maps into mobs. :C
can't wait to see what this "FIX" is.
I'll admit, i've been getting pretty upset lately at the fact that I can't run this game on a decent graphics mode. and even at the lowest setting I can't improve the warehouse or the lab map rooms.
**keep his fingers crossed**
I'm adding a comment so I can see the updates here.
I just did Vincent Ross's arc last night and got this map. Ugh. 7. FPS. Because of super-glowy racks lol.

Has this been addressed by the dev team at all? The new warehouse maps are close to unplayable for me, even on the lowest settings, due to the extreme lag.

I personally can't, I think it's the low shader that causes this? I have to play with that practically off or I get the 5fps on EVERY map due to my old PC, so I'm stuck with no workaround until the devs address it. I think somewhere up the thread someone posted that a private dev conversation confirmed they were at least aware of the issue.

If I understand it correctly the problem IS the lowest settings. If your system is capable i'd turn the graphics up for that mission to make it playable.

Just push the shader to medium to get rid of the glare.
However, nothing can be done about the fps hit except the offending items causing it getting fixed or you getting a beefier machine.
A fix is on the way.
In the meantime, my experimentation showed that the one thing that helped the most was having geometry buffers enabled.

Still not fixed. I just had to leave a mission because it was unplayable. I hope the fix which is "on the way" gets here quickly.

The new large warehouse tilesets have 2 problems:
1. Improper Occlusion causing a 50% or more fps drop.
2. Improper textures at low settings.
Occlusion Problem
Running through the new warehouse map provides normally expected fps until you hit one of the two large warehouse rooms (both shown here in Mission: Warehouse_30_Layout_05_04):
In these two large rooms, looking only at the floor, or ceiling, or wall, or a container, or even looking down on a rack of containers gives normal fps. However, if you look at certain containers through other containers or a wall or a beam, the fps takes a 50% hit. The biggest offenders seem to be all the metallic shades: the rust red beams and the silver metal objects.
The rest of the map contain legacy containers that were created for the original warehouse maps and do not have a similar problem.
Texture Problem
Here's what the new large warehouse room looks like at a Medium Shader or better:
Here's what it looks like at any of the Low Shader settings:
The oversaturation is what we saw with the blinding white textures of the Cimeroran beach and bluffs in Beta. It certainly is also a cause of lag.
