New Thor Clip . . . with Hawkeye?!

From reviews I've read the reason that Hawkeye (and that is him) doesn't shoot is because he has been told to let Thor reach the hammer and see what happens. Then if he manages to get the hammer and looks like he's getting away take him down.

Not sure what Hawkeye's going to do once Thor actually claims the hammer. >.>

No idea. If so, too bad Marvel went for the 'brick on a stick' rather than use any of the cooler art as inspiration.

It looked like that in every incarnation except the Ultimate Marvel universe. There it looked like a framing hammer with an axe head stuck on the back. And it was so big it looked like one of those hammers you use to ring the bell at a carnival. I would much much rather see a brick on a stick than that abomination.

Empire movie magazine just gave the movie a 4 out of 5....here is a snippet:

" There’s a neat tonal shift, as human beings meet Thor (and, later, in the film’s funniest moment, the Warriors Three and Sif) and find everything he does or says ridiculous. Here, Hemsworth — the Australian actor who impressed so much with his one-scene cameo in Star Trek as Kirk’s doomed dad — comes into his own, adding new layers of humility and humour to his blustering God Of Thunder. At one point, Thor fights off hospital orderlies with an outraged, “You DARE attack the son of Odin?!?”. The fish out of water stuff works like a charm. Hemsworth emerges from this a true star, adept at action, good with comedy, swell at the romantic stuff with Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster (there’s a romantic streak a mile wide here) and cut like Kate Middleton’s engagement rock.

In fact, you’re instantly intrigued by the prospect of seeing Hemsworth on screen with Robert Downey Jr. (and Chris Evans) in next year’s The Avengers. Marvel copped flak for turning Iron Man 2 into essentially an extended trailer for its big gamble, and has clearly learned a lesson. Yes, SHIELD is involved. Yes, Jeremy Renner shows up for one spectacularly pointless scene as the ace archer, Hawkeye. But Thor, ultimately, stands on its own two feet. We’ll toast that with a glass of mead and a feast fit for a king. Hold the cheese."

"A great love is alot like a good memory. When it's there and you know it's there, but it's just out of your reach. It can be all that you think about. You can focus on it and try to force it but the more you do, the more you seem to push it away. But if you're patient and hold still...maybe...just maybe...it will come to you. I just need to be somewhere she can find me" - Church from Red vs Blue

It is also rated at 94% fresh at Rottem Tomatoes based on 16 reviews...as a long time Thor fan I am VERY excited about the great reviews...

Why would they allow the possibility of him getting to the hammer if they didn't know something about them, though? Are they planning on letting anyone who's sufficiently motivated and skilled to get to it "just to see what happens?"

This is true. I think Beta Ray Bill had a giant rubber mallet or something equally 'tarded. Why it looked different for him I don't know. But the "brick on a stick" has been the design pretty much since the character's inception. The handle changes over time, but the big gray cinder block is standard. I like it. It's primordial and therefore timeless.

That seems to be the way SHIELD works, in the comics and now in the movies.

Anyone who thought Iron Man 2 was an "extended trailer" for The Avengers is a class-A idiot. IM2 rewards repeated viewings, because there's lots of stuff going on in the background which both help that story and fill out the larger universe. I'd think that geeks would be more lenient about this sort of thing because it's never been done before. And what I mean by that is: it has NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE. No one has ever set out to intentionally connect an entire series of movies into one cohesive universe. So of course there are going to be brief asides and character cross-overs which connect any one film to the larger universe.

Keep an eye on him and if he decides to do anything questionable attempt and i do mean attempt to slow him down until the calvary arrives...then they can attempt to slow him down until Fury arrives and so on etc...
