Mothership Raids. So what's the deal?

Ever since i20 was released, MS raids seem to have disappeared. I was looking forward to trying it in a league, but every time I get there at the scheduled time, not a soul.

Are MS raids a thing of the past, or am I just showing up at the wrong zone instance and times? Zones, being Rikti Warzone 1, and times being what's posted in the sticky.

Nope they still go on. Days seem to change, I think they're Thursdays now, used to be Mondays. Shimmer Strike, if you ever see her around, often times hosts them herself.

Ah, okay. I guess I'll try it again next week. Thanks!

The Cape Radio's own Posthaste runs back to back Mothership Raids during his awesome show on the first Sunday of each month, if that helps.

Interesting note: Back around 3pm I was going to start preparing for a ship raid, which I hoped to start around 8pm...

Then I got called away to help transport a refrigerator and fix up a boat. (Despite the fact that I have the upper body strength of a squirrel...) So yeah. Well. Bad timing today.

Not to mention this was update week. Let folks get their fix of the first week rush at the new update and things will slowly return to normal.

MS Raid = Mothership Raid.

It's not incarnate content, it's an open zone event for characters of level 35 or up (ok, technically anyone can participate but you need to be 35+ for the full rewards). Basically a few teams get together can take down all of the pylons in the RWZ. This lowers the shields on the mothership which is full of level 54 Rikti. In addition to the normal rewards these Rikti give a Vanguard Merit to every member of every team that damages them. This is therefore the easiest way to get Vanguard Merits. A complete raid will generally 300-600 merits depending on how well the teams do.

I run Mothership Raids every Monday, continuing the tradition of Mothership Mondays on Virtue. Tomorrow, it will be in RWZ3, I think. I will start around 9 or 10PM EST depending on when my class lets out.

...I'm not sure whether this is proof that that universe wants me to lay off CoH a bit or proof that the Rikti are interfering with my net connection... But I had planned to run a ship raid Sunday. I woke up at 9~10am, went to log on and post about it, to get it all set up aaaaand... My net was down. All day.

This makes me very sad. Beating up Rikti is my hobby...

You can join me Monday night. It should be interesting with all the level shifted Incarnates with Judgement AoE's.

I think your sarcasm detector needs some repairs.

Mothership Raids with a League team. It's so simple!

The only level shift for the Mothership raids will be +1, not +3. My Incarnate doesn't have any I20 slots unlocked yet, but that'll come in time.

Same. It's not like they're necessary, though. They're just flashy, fun and useful for clearing out the hordes and hordes of alien cannon fodder.

I'm looking forward to beating G'rai's head in again. Last time I could run a mothership raid was back when I was level 47. I'm pretty sure I had a really good Defender or two on the team, because I managed to go toe to toe with the giant jerk for a significant amount of time (and make a significant dent in his health) without anyone else attacking him.

Which is what cemented my love of ship raids for all time. <3

It's hard to tell sarcasm in text, someone could conceivably not know about MS raids.

Haile (@korhal) is planning on returning to her Summer Schedule for MSRs which means 1700CST on Mondays and running somewhere between 4-7 raids that night.

All righty, crossing my fingers than an epic raid or two is on the books tonight!

I was on two great raids run by Haile Korhal Monday, and they were still running more when I left. They were announced well in advance on most all of the server channels. Haile has a channel called "Haile's Raiders" where you can get a heads up on any upcoming raids too.

MS raids on Virtue are always a blast! You'll have fun.

As Trem said upthread, Posthaste runs MS raids the first sunday of every month. They are epic. They are fun. If you listen, there is good music.

Some more info!

Sometimes they're themed. Don't be surprised if you see people in raiderhosen, or with bunny ears and tails. It's all in good fun, and a large portion of the regular participants RP during the raid.

They're every first Sunday of the month, 6p-9p Eastern time, three raids back to back to back, usually lasting 45 minutes to an hour each, with 5-10 minute breaks in between each raid. They always start in the highest numbered RWZ as of roughly 5:50p Eastern on the day of the raid.

We are fully capable of taking over the zone, so showing up early is better than showing up late.

I can't wait to see a raid done with a league UI. It'll make getting teams together a lot easier, that's for sure.

And Shimmer-Strike is a pretty good friend of mine as well, dunno bout his raids though, he always seems to throw them when I'm neck-deep in RP or something.

The Magi are going to be in for a surprise when a pantheon of gods descends for the next raid.

I did one this week, we owned that thing. The incarnate powers make for some very sorry Rikti indeed.
