Squishy Lambda

Emp/DP. Alpha+1. Only stealth is IO. Not a def build - nothing more than 15-20%. How would I do the weapon/acid part of Lambda?

I can't even imagine running past 300 bosses with rocket swarms and living.

I'm not even sure if Stealth helps much. Each Containment Chamber and Weapons Cache is surrounded by troops. I suppose if you had recall friends you could scout out glowies and then TP in help but that takes more time. This is one portion of the trial where simple SPEED and trying to stay together are your best friend. When the team gets split up that is when players start dying.. 6 people in one spot divides up the attacks being flung at you. if you rush down a corridor solo.. everything there focuses its attack on YOU.

Take heart.. I hit 50(+3) Yesterday and suddenly my defenses imrpoved to where I can run past just about anything and survive.

If you move quickly and keep track of your teammates, you won't have any problems. Use lucks if things look like they're going to get bad.

I find there's a MUCH larger emphasis on speed on many of these runs than is necessary. The groups I'm in typically finish with 3-4 minutes remaining on the clock and quite a few deaths. For me it seems like we would clear the place out almost as quickly if we just actually fought our way through the facilities and both far fewer deaths and a decent amount more strings.

Also note the def cap for the new trials is 59%. If you have 45% def, you are in for a surprise. A large number of people with a bunch of influ/infamy put into their builds are regularly faceplanting on the new trials. If you are getting your butt handed to you, really don't be surprised. There's a reason you are given rewards even if you fail the trial.

Stealth IO + Super Speed helps a lot. Though I have noticed some Seer mobs seeing me as I run by them.

You can gift these temp powers to your sturdier league mates.

Something to consider...

Well, gifting the temp powers is easy, but so is using them relatively safely. The big problem is accomplishing anything during stage 3 besides standing by the door.

New softcap aside, my FM/SD scrapper had no problem blowing by everything in the halls and destroying a barrel/crate before they could kill me and moving along to the next one with a green or 2 (and similar results with my widow minus a couple of deaths, but she's not even level shifted). But I never saw more than 3 people in a group, and they were always fighting instead of going for the breakies - and there's no way I could take a single hit in those situations.

Aggro management doesn't exist in those timed areas. BAF is joke on any character, but Lambda is very much a fend for yourself situation during part 3.

I stock up on purp, orange and green insps, with like 2 bfs. If I die, I cap out def and res before leaving hosp. As suggested, sticking together is key. Helps to have a team lead who has memorized object spawn points.

I have yet to see a team stick together in that, but I also tend to have a tougher time finding my way through maps then many people do, so maybe there is some team chunk ahead of me.

What I've had some success with is finding a tank or scrapper and following them, letting them run in first, and providing support and additional firepower. But then again, I tend to take superspeed to stack with a stealth IO on pretty much every support character who doesn't have some kind of stealth to stack with the IO (steamy mist, etc.), so I'm mainly worried about the actual fights at the glowies.

Another suggestion is to get the Eye of the Magus accolade, for extra resist/defense for 2 minutes at a time. Accolades are not disabled in the trials, and with some decent recharge in your build or Hasten it is likely to be recharged for your next Lambda pass even if you are doing them back to back. That phase of Lambda is the only part of either trial where I think you really need the help as a squishy.

Finally, as already suggested, insps are your friend. More specifically, plan to burn most of your tray on this part, but if you play strategically you don't need any before or after this, and you can always restock between Trials, or if you hit a hospital in one.

Getting a stealth power(Super Speed, Stealth) is something I highly recommend to all squishies. Together with a stealth IO only special enemies will see you, and you can buff without breaking stealth.

Mostly what Lobster said. Get some purple and orange inspirations (T2s if you can but a bunch of T1s is fine) a few greens (if you lack a self heal) and some break frees. Keep your map open so you can see your teammates, move quickly and let someone else take point.

If you follow a tough character they'll get most of the aggro which limits the damage you are exposed to.

Usually I follow the leader on my team but if that fails then I am able to go out on my own. I can stay at range with Shadowfall and the Stealth IO running, and safely blast the crates without aggroing the mobs. That's how I do it. I am able to run by them without much issue using the same stealth powers above.

If you have SS and the stealth proc you should be fine. As for as how to survive, the best thing I can tell you is to find some cover when you need a chance to get back some hp. See, when they are busy running at you then you can pop some insp or a HA while they can't hit you behind that box. Not being a master of DP I can't give much advice except to spread out your mez on targets to lower all around incoming damage.

Another tip is not to let anything get in melee range of you. Especially if there are some Victoria's around. Those things hurt like hell. If you keep moving and popping around you really only have to worry about the ranged damage. Some purples or hell even oranges help to lighten that load.

However, as everyone has been saying getting your incarnate levels really does make a difference. I mean, these trials were designed to be handled by incarnates so for those of us on the path to it it becomes a pain in the you know what. However, once you can get that T3 Destiny and T3 Lore, you notice how awesome things become.

If I might make a plug for clarion in destiny as for survivability, not getting mezzed helps out life immensely.

I load up my inspire tray before entering. 8 purple, 8 oranges, 3 BFs, and one something else depending on the character (I normally do the same on my tankers and scrappers too, because even they need the help sometimes).

I normally have the first 4 columns each have 2 lucks and 2 oranges. I try not to start using them until after the first objective is destroyed and sometimes I can even make it longer without using any. But I also do not "save" them too long. Use the inspires, I'll drop one or sometimes even 2 columns. Better to have 2 to 4 minutes of being effective, then hitting the hospital and refilling your tray with more purples and oranges for 2 to 4 more minutes of being effective than dying with a tray full of inspires.
