I had to stand around for fifteen minutes to wait for the freakin' zombies to go away so my PUG TF could street hunt some LongBow. FIFTEEN MINUTES!!! FOR REALS!!!!!
Really, it's not a huge pain. I'll say that double XP would have been nicer, but this was still fine.

I thought it was nice of them...I got some levels, badges, and some loot.Everyone I've seen in bc/channels have been happy.
But, then again there's always somebody that wants to poo-poo about something.

Well I'm glad you're not all taking my dislike for the Halloween event personally.
I understand that the devs would want to make up for a downtime. What I don't like is that they use their most intrusive, overused event to make up for it.
Like others have said, an impromptu double-xp weekend would have been a better choice and would even make sense with the new issue, since most og its focus is endgame content.
Even a repeat of the Valentine's Day event would have been better. CoX Halloween is too overdone, especially since half of the event actually keeps occurring on normal days in the form of the zombie hordes and deadly apocalypses that keep going on for no reason and that frankly break the immersion of the game.

honestly..
i have to agree with the op on this....the recycled content of these events is just horrid..i only thank god its not the vday event. thats just the worst. no one on guardian was even doing the halloween event this week but maybe 2 people in p.i.
id rather they do nothing at all either since these recycled events or the older players is really worthless.
i dont hate the devs for downtimes.infact i didnt log on at all that whole day!
i hate reycled content though with a passion.

All that topped with the fact that, even if I wanted to run a Banners event, I never saw the opportunity to. Whenever I'd run into a zone that had one going (and I ran into a lot), a /whoall would reveal me to be either the only person in the zone, or one of, like, three people. I did catch calls for event teams here and there, usually when I was half-way through a long instance or about to log off, but the fact of the matter is I never got anything out of the event but aggravation.
And mosh-put zombie invasions just suck.

I personally didn't like it. If it was to make up for downtime, they should have had a double XP and double rewards day. I lost a day of being able to play a game I pay for, when I should have been able to. But, did they do this? Nope. The turned on the Halloween switch, which to me is stupid, and in no way address how frustrated I was from not being able to play.
NOW there's another full day lost to "activate" I20? I love that we're not charged for content upgrades. I hate that they're programmers are so faulty that they can't swap a build in less than a full damn day.
Kinda frustrating.

Thousands of people who don't normally play on the weekends for whatever reason would be raging up a storm that they missed out on a double XP weekend because there was no advance warning to tell them about it.
You thought people were annoyed about the Halloween event? Make them miss double XP and see what happens on the forums. There's a reason they announce double XP weekends at least 3-4 weeks in advance: to prevent the raging of customers who missed it because they didn't receive enough advance warning about it.
