There are now ways to limit that sort of thing, its just a matter of whether the time invested in doing so is worth it.

From an Earthguard perspective, there is no SG edict about Hamidon raids, our players either do them, or not on a personal choice. Sometimes the whim hits us and sometimes it doesn't.

As far as other things, as a person who has raided from the first strategy that Marut designed and was often a targetter, the issue primarily is that we have shiny new stuff and the raids are no longer the only game in town. I would also echo AmyG's sentiment of lag sometimes affecting things. Maybe a new strategy or finding means of doing the raid differently would attract people back?

As far as server drama, whenever you get a bunch of people together, some will agree and some will disagree, however, I see this group of people on the server to be much better than in past times. Dual boxing a raid might be a bit much especially on a full one, but if the extra toon is needed to get it underway/completed, then maybe that's ok? I don't know.

I think the more we cling to and talk about being the drama server, the longer the stigma sticks....if we just move forward and try to be reasonable with each other, we might leave that behind.

As far as the Praetorian Hami Raid...I am interested in seeing a Well of the Furies powered Hamidon....

I mean, look at it this way from an in game consistency model. After seeing the invasion this week, and the sheer amount of resources at Cole's disposal, and yet, Hami has pushed him back to the equivalent of 3 cities of space on his version of Earth? Praetorian Hami would kick our Hami's buttinski twice on Sunday and come back Monday for another heaping of beat down.

I must concur! If the dev's really wanted ppl to respond to something that really is rewarding to those involved. I would say don't put shards or threads into the conversation as much as give ppl the chance of a random purple recipe only able to be claimed every 5 days or whatever (just an example).

People would be lined up and willing to log (schedule permitting) if they did this for any such Trial.. like maybe the abandoned sewer trial? Now that would make it worthwhile!

Not that Soon, but Soon™. The next one is the Keyes Reactor, I believe. Then it'll be the Underground? Then there's some conjecture on what the next will be, but me and Horus have the idea that it'll be a Trial/Raid/Event outside the Sonic Barrier. And we all know what's outside there. Or somethin' concernin' the Shadow Shard... for some reason... that's comin'... and might be stormy...

Sometimes a raid leader just needs a pulse to auto taunt a mito because there is just not enough players. I am sad that I was not there to attend the raid as I was cleaning up smoke damage to my house from the "bull national forest fire" (it came with in 12 miles of my house and I was evcaed for a week). If i could of I would of been there. Since i20 has come out i have seen many people put a side issues to team with eachother to get the incarnate stuff done. The HAMI raid had become difficult to run even with poeple bringing out there pimped out toons. There is just not enough interest even with the cool kids club's people there. I love pop's he is always there to help you if you need it. I have even given a second thought to respecting budweiser. He is always forming a trail run or a team for a tf. He has grown up since all the drama he caused (not that long ago)((i will give him that)). He saw that more tanks was needed and brought another one, while calling people and asking them to log in and join the raid. We all want the server just to get along sometimes. We want the drama just to stop. I say we rally from this and next week give pops the dues he has worked hard to earn. lets rally and dish him some jello!

I wasn’t pointin fingers and making excuses, it's true that ever since i20 dropped everyone is after the bright and shiny.
So I have (a) toon(s), as many of us do, that have incarnate powers: ITF, Tin Mage, Apex; faster than ever, LGTF ,STF; much easier, and tips; the same 5 mishes over and over.
So me and my bright idea, is for us to break out our uber incarnate toons and do a Hami, since we haven’t been doin them that often anymore, and I was around for the 3 weekly raids that's what made me keep my account goin; The community in the game.
Which makes me wonder how long will we be able to run the same (2) mish(s) over and over for every lvl 50 toon we own, I was burnin- out on the trials after a month straight day after day.
Then what for our new toons, when we sick of farmin BAF's and are unable to form 12 to 18 person leagues not for one trial but for several occurrences, to open the slots and gain all the salvage to get at least to t3 in each power, then double it to obtain a t4's across the board.
And since we are on the subject of the trials, I found myself on more trials with Bud and Co. leading for the better part of the last month. I didn't bother me that he was dual boxing, cause there was plenty of room on the teams. And so whether he liked / wanted/intended to /used ppl or not, he helped many people get their incarnates.
So Back to last Sunday's raid when I had been spamming in EVRY channel for an hour, that a hami was going to start he sent me a PM askin what arch types I need for the raid, and if it would be alright if he could bring 2 tanks and a friend to fill in the gap on the yellow mito taunt team.
I sent him the invites. I had his word he was going to help out . I didn’t think things would have played out the way they did. If the zone was nearly full or a if we had 40 ppl on the league he would have had one invite sent to him, we only has 23 ppl during the monster hunt. I welcomed the help.
I still believe in the people of Champion. I have not or will not give up, although as a posted earlier I have put the idea of hosting a Hami on hold as of last Sunday nite.
I have decided to give the Mother Ship raid a try since they can be run with smaller mixed teams.
See ya Sunday in the War Zone!!

? @ auto taunting a mito. not a wise thing to do.

you want to end drama but yet there you are perpetuating it even further by tossing the "cool kids club" crack out there.

o-k

The question at the time was: should -anyone- be controlling two Tankers on the Yellow Taunt team simultaneously? I didn't think so, and I wasn't the only one. Why must people try to make it sound like a personal attack on the player?

As far as our needing more people, the dual-boxing issue only came up after the original three of us had been asked about covering two mitos each, to which none of us objected.

Honestly, I think this current issue needs to be dropped entirely.

If the Raid Leader wants a dual boxer tank when help was certainly wanted/needed, then so be it.

Once again, thank you for all of those that did come to help out at the raids for the past few weeks, hopefully we will be able to start this back up again sometime soon.

Ladies, gentlemen and catgirls of the court, I'd say the real question is, why should anyone care, given that Hami raiding is dumb and also boring?

Riddle me that, Your Catgirlness.

I still enjoy them because Hamidon is full of shinies. The defense rests.

Not those shinies, the mitos themselves. They're like Christmas tree ornaments.

Seriously, though, I like the Hamidon Raid because it can't be beaten with brute force alone. Anything that challenges people to think about strategy is worth doing.

Never tried dual-boxing really, but yellow taunt seems like it would be pretty easy. Pick your target, pop EotE, auto-taunt, do the same with your other account, and keep an eye on each in case yellow spike runs a bit slow and you need another EotE. When they bloom, pop an EoE, reacquire your target, and repeat. It's not the most difficult job out there. I've teamed with dual-box players who did very well in much more difficult circumstances with much more complicated characters.

Blue and green might be even easier. Just target through whoever is supposed to be calling targets and pound keys. No need to move or reacquire targets, so long as the targetter is doing their job and you have the range. If you do need to move, just follow your other account. No big deal.
