EM/ Brutes?

Does anyone play an EM/ brute's or is the 6 seconds animations for 2 attacks just too much? EM/ seem's pretty useless now, easily out DPSed by alot of other things or you'll just end up dieing cause there's no way to hit buffs. AoE range of 8 is hella gimp too, I asked cause i was thinking of useing my EM/invul, but it seem's pretty pointless now.

I would play your EM/Invuln and see if you enjoy it.

Mechanically? Yes, I agree with you. EM is pretty outclassed.

I don't think you'll end up dying. Invuln is easily one of the toughest sets available to Brutes and and a well built Invuln will be able to survive a huge amount of encounter types regardless of primary.

Ya, they broke EM. The shizz to the bottom of the pack. Three 50s - perma benched.

Give KM a shot, it definately makes one nostalgic for the good ole days... when we had to walk up hill both ways to school..

Great game while it lasts.

I still play my em/stone, only because it was I/O'd out before the nerf. its got tier 4 spritiual core paragon alpha and works well for me.

EM/Invul. 50+

Yes, I'd like the animations to be...a wee bit faster, and I'd like my AoE to feel as awesome as its recharge time indicates.

But once you get it set like mine with yellow and orange set IOs, it feels pretty fast.

It's not an either/or.
I play mine and the longer animations are just too much.
I won't roll another EM rute till EM is "fixed" though. Other sets just offer more.

I think useless is a bit of a stretch. It's not as useful as it was, but it's still useful.

By some other sets. Idk the numbers to know if it's a lot of them or not. extra power pools help.

I am not sure what this means

Totally up to you.

I use the animation times to eat, drink and chat. I also use the animation time to target my next victim.
With Total Focus, you can initiate the attack and then click a glowie while the attack is animating. That's another way to get some use out of that awesome hang time.
Another thing with TF is that is you have Super Speed on, the travel suppression is just about over by the time the animation is done, so it feels like you weren't suppressed at all.

The thing I find I like most about my EM/ toons is that it has synergy with itself. All those stuns allow you to detoggle the debuffing enemies or just take a dangerous target out of the fight.

The long animations honestly don't bother me... I think they look cool. TF>BSr>ET>BSr... is an OK DPS chain and looks hella-brutish because you're doing a double-hammerfist smash on every attack.

I also solo a lot more then I team, so the fact that there's very little AoE damage in the set doesn't bother me... on my EM/Invul brute I'm not even taking the AoE attack.

I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.

I preferred the instant 'surprise' animation that ET used to have. The new one looks cool but just doesn't do it for me like that sucker-punch-of-doom I used to toss around.

Already deleted my em/nin stalker for an elec/nin and will be deleting my em/ea brute once i'm done using him as a storage house for IO stuff. Like some others, I don't plan on making another one, especially since KM seems like a great substitute so far.

I think energy transfer is still the biggest single target Orange Number a brute can get (not positive on that, but pretty sure). Is that worth it? Not really in my opinion. I have an energy melee tanker and while I've sometimes wondered what a build up cycle would look like backed by fury it's never made it into play past level 8 or so.

Energy Melee needs to have its niche redefined.

I play an energy melee brute...and use electric armor.

The Energy Transfer has one small issue....the developers who tampered with the animation for it messed up on it becasue as you charge up to use the atatck the actual damage doesnt happen until after the animation completes.....

So not only do you lose yuor brute damage bonus while it builds up to hit....but in addition if you die while you are in the animation you do no damage...

Kind of funny and silly...but here is the stupid thing.....if you miss with it or are interupted or knocked away before it completes.....you will do no damage to the target but take the damage that it causes to you in full.

This attack by the way can kill you....yes you can commit suicide by only using this attack.....if you want to have fun...you can do this on the practice targets in the Rikti War zone for one place.
