Fun with Crane Kick

After 6+ years of playing COH, I finally got around to trying out the MA set on a scrapper. What a joy! I find myself saving up Crane Kick until I know it will defeat a mob, just for the fun of delivering the final blow by punting him across the room, or even better, off a bridge, cliff, walkway, or any other elevated surface. Woohoo - talk about feeling like a superhero!

Now go try six slotted with Kinetic Crash.

They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!

Hahah, it can be annoying while the mob's gonna survive the attack because they WILL fly... but as a finisher, it's definitely one of my favorites too (and probably the best super stunner killing attack, knocks them far enough away they cant rez).

Why wouldn't you want your super stunner to rez? They come back without many hit points, and you get just as much XP for defeating them the second time. Yay rez!

Because the rez by sapping your end.

Boo, sapping!

Solo, yes.

In a team, a Super Stunner frequently gets several heroes in his rez-nuke, and pops back up at full health.

They are really a pain....

You should team more often, young man!

Total hijack -- the character in your avatar (Presumably "the" Steel Mountain himself) looks a lot like my own Ironclad, although the pic is pretty small.

On my MA characters, truth be told, I stopped using Crane Kick once Cobra Strike was buffed up. Since CS does the same damage for the same end and rech but with Stun rather than Knockback it's much more useful in combat.

Crane Kick is awesome, though, for going around Atlas Park at level 20+ and knocking Hellions around.

Well, the incarnate system has "forced" me to. I've now been on two ITFs and an Apex on pick up groups. *shudder* OK, honestly, it wasn't that bad. One ITF I might even describe as good - steam roll killing almost everything for shards. Nobody on the team said a word until about halfway through the entire task force. Less talking. More killing. Perfect.

Most annoying example of this is where I've used Dominator Power Push (which, like Crane Kick is an awesome way to finish off an enemy) to defeat one and push him away from the rest of the team, he landed beside a hostage and rezzed off of them instead

Another convert! Welcome to the club! Martial Arts is a great, fun set. Eagle's Claw>Dragon's Tail FTW!

My MA/Fire scrapper (Tiger Dragon Monkey on Freedom) hit 50 last night. I like MA... /fire hasn't won me over yet, although it's hard not to like focus chi>burn. I like running a chain of SK>CAK>SK>Burn>SK>CAK>SK>EC... which has no punching at all and in general is very jumpy-kicky-flippy-monkey-like.

I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.

Yes, I use Cobra Strike as my opening move, and agree that the stun is much more desirable, except as the final shot. Still only lvl 25, so I haven't had the chance to try out Eagle's Claw or Dragon Tail yet.

Somewhere in Sharks island, over The Pit:

[Local]Fate Hunter: THIS. IS. SPARTAAAAAAA!!!

*Consortium Guard is Crane Kicked into the pit*

Oh yeah, good times. I've been doing that since I first set foot in there. At level 50 and with some KB enhancement, it's really quite impressive!

Mind I have fun on my SS/Inv Tanker, using Knockout Blow, sending someone up skyward and seeing how long until they come down again.

You do realize that you can be on a team and solo right? I do it all the time with my fire/sr. The only time i really meddle in the "Team" affairs is when its an av or something the whole team is needed on. Otherwise you can almost be assured that i'm either in front of the tank tanking or on the other side of the map meeting them halfway. We cant kill hog on a team or else they get upset.

Team More. Less Talking. More Burning. More Scrapping. Perfect.
