Yet another ss/fire/mu brute build critique

So I've decided that my previous build for farming, focused on +melee def, is not up to snuff for the fire farms. After doing a lot of thinking and tinkering this is the build I've come up with, I focused on +fire def&resist then +rech.
Can anyone find any glaring holes that I might have missed? Something that I might not have thought of? Do you see anything that might trip me up? How do you foresee it's performance?

I sacrificed a travel power to fit everything in. Going to have to use a jet pack to get around.
The previous build is a big time endo hog, even with slotting a cardiac alpha it still sucks down the blue bar if I don't pace myself. I wanted a build that wouldn't need to use consume every time it's up. Altho with this build it looks like I wont really need consume execpt for rage and hasten crashes.

Thanks for your advice.

Do I really need fences?

With the high recharge build there would I even have the time for fences in the rotation?

[ note: I do not have a SS/FA and this is just from reading what I have picked up in other threads of the same topic (= ]

Assuming this character is at The Mighty Fifty , you have already done the hard part and are now just there to make gain in influence. You do not need a travel power, just use a Jetpack to fly to your farm and reap in the rewards easy enough.

Just quick glancing at build and from what I have picked up from reading other SS/FA/MU farming builds which all focus on the same goal..
-You aim for VERY high recharge first, then with any leftover spaces you are slotting for some defense.
-You have taken Vengeance, you are farming I assume solo to gain max benefits and have taken a team power which you will never fire off to gain defense. Drop the whole pool, and take up Concealment which you WILL NOT run... use the three slots to gain 22.5% rechagre from LotG 7.5s. Having more recharge means that Healing Flames will be up and ready any time you need to heal, and will mean Consume is also up and available as well.
-Consume I don't like your slotting, I would say put in Efficacy Adapter for it to be worthwhile and fill-up your Endurance upon use instead of only half of it. Yes you are losing 2.5% recharge but you are still gaining that 20% from before if you so do.

Now you'd be using inspirations any time you have them, Purples and Reds mainly to further speed things up, this (again from looking at other topics of the same build..) looks like it would work for your goal of farming and gaining more influence than you of course have spent.

Consume will still fill up 100% But you shouldn't need you it anyway, its a great set mule though. A goal is to get to the point where you can finish a mish and ticket cap before you get haste/rage crashs. Basically you finish the mish before you run out of end.

But yes, you will have time to use fences. Even on the highest rech builds it going to eventually in fit your chain. Is this a hybrid build? I see you have tough. If you're ok with farm only i could probably make a build with a price close to this with a lot more +rech.

If you don't use Elec Fences, you're better off going Pyre Mastery for more damage.

Take the Armageddon proc out of Burn and replace the dmg Armageddon from Footstomp with it. Bigger target cap and radius means you'll get more use out of it. If you're willing to get it, put the -res proc in Burn.

You really don't need to build for defense when you're resist capped, level shifted and when inspirations drop like crazy.

I'd still take a travel power, can always get one instead of RotP, you shouldn't be dying at all.

Like others said, you want recharge, recharge, and more recharge if this is just for ambush farming. Cardiac is good to keep you going non-stop.

As far as Rage goes, I don't use it most of the time in ambush farms. What do you do after each run, or rather what should you be doing? Fill up a tray full of reds. And since I'm already there, I spend an extra couple of seconds to damage cap myself before I go back in for another run. By doing this, you should be able to keep yourself damage capped or close to it without having to deal with the Rage crash slowing you down.

It took me the better part of a week just to get the T1 cardiac slotted. I still have a long way to go before I get lvl shifted. And that's a lot of shards to grind for with my current endo sucking build.

If I went all out for straight +rech and putting in fences and probably having to juggle lots of slots could I just rely on using veng bait with it 5 slotted with 2 Hami's and 3pc of LoTG? That should be enough to have it overlap with more than enough def. I could possibly not worry about slotting sets for def and focus on proc'ing out the build.? maybe?

I figure this is going to be a vengence fueled farmer so I'll be reliant on a corpse so there wont be much for solo action here. Besides I like witty banter!

*The -res proc is a possibility when I have enough inf to get it.

I find that having about 35% def is all thats i need inorder to survive without my heal, against +4s (+3s for you).
But also, purples dude, purples. Anything more than that one slot (LotG) is a waste in veng imo.

Not sure why one would build towards defense against fire, when you have capped resistance to fire. You might as well pick another secondary in that case, imo. Like others have mentioned, recharge should be primary focus. I went with a slightly different route of maximizing my +HP on mine, and it seems to have worked out pretty well for me, instead of defense. Just some different thoughts to ponder for ya.

Don't I know you???

Posted

yeah i agree, if you're going to bother with any fire def, 30-35% one purple away, will be fine. and you wont need to worry a whole lot if you forget to pop a purple. leaving most to turn into reds.

Posted

Im gunna put this out there....I dislike your build, its too slow and too expensive

I've found that people tend to slot farmers for fire defence, why do that when you can easily slot for pure recharge and still get to 20% which is 2 purples away?

Im also going to say the pyre is the way to go, coz its melts face :P

since you've got the basic idea with the build i'll just give you mine

Or use a secondary build if the primary one is currently IO-less (;

I wish it was IOless. I think I've put about 500 mil into it's current build which I havent listed. Unfortunatly some of it will have to be sacrificed. With this next build I'm going to strip a couple toons that don't get played much anymore and make this one rock hard.
