It was at this point a certain black armoured woman who apparently had a bit of a talent for stressing out the Outsider returned to the main room, a collection of CCTV Cameras dangling from their torn out wires in her hand, which with a clattering sound, were dropped on a nearby table.
There we go, no one watching now, we can talk in peace She said with a stretch of her arms out as she made her way towards a free couch, Oh, drinks is it? Lets see what the wine is like here
As Mirel waited for her drink, she took the opportunity to dive onto a free couch, causing it to creak a fair bit under the weight of her armour, but not breaking just yet. The Dynast sprawled herself over the whole thing, clearly getting comfy despite what would be expected in armour like that.
Introductions again too? Well for the sake of anyone who wasnt here last time, Im Mirel of Great House Cathak of the Scarlet Dynasty, Dragonlord of the third Cathak Legion, Hero of Two Rivers and betrothed to VNeef Ryn
There was a pause as she stretched out on the couch, smiling over at the group.
Saying my full title out loud reminds me why I just go by Cathak Mirel or just Mirel if you like
"Are you sure you don't want healing?" Ineloo said after a brief pause for breath, "House Jorasco offers healing and hospitality to all who wish it. I could have you fixed up in the blink of an eye!"
|
"Miss Ineloo," the shaman told her quietly, glancing up for a moment at the armored Esertosian, "this female, she's a warrior. Through overcoming her pain, she builds strength within. She wants to fight it. Your insistence is disrespecting that, you know."
The 'warrior' meanwhile didn't say anything, but judging by the affirming, if gentle look in her eyes, the lavender lizardman had hit the nail on the head.
"No." Oxana's reply was prompt and detached, and she regarded the large mechanoid not a whit differently than before, "There is enough concern over the integration of just one human-populated world into the empire. While simulations nine through twelve allow for development in that direction, there is not enough reason to pursue it at this point..."

Silver let out a whistle of relief, before taking a seat on the ground with a heavy clank, the ground shaking a little as he did so.
"This...has been one hell of a day," he exclaimed to the world in general, looking around curiously as he did so.

Ethan slowly relaxed as the alcohol went to work; he moved from his corner and sort some food stuffs to fill his empty stomach. He even opened up a little and chatted to the collection of folk the room held. His natural caution made sure he avoided disclosing much, keeping to the topic of the strangeness of Paragon, and it inhabitants.
As always he asked about tech and weaponry, and how some folk seemed to be able to do things without the needing any technology at all.
On the topic of his home world he was as vague as he could get away with, explaining that he was no scholar or historian.
Ethan made sure he filled up on the free food and shamelessly stored that which would not soon go off in his small pack, as one cannot tell what the future may hold, and a biscuit or two may be needed.
He avoided to much talk of returning home, so far this new world looked a lot better than where he had come from.
The Tsaiv gave the halfling a pained glance, the alien woman setting to answer with reluctance when Kri interjected, calling her attention with a whisper as he took a knee beside the little rogue.

The Halfling looked around curiously again, trying to absorb as much information as possible about the technology the Gonarov's crew were using. Her hands twitched by her sides as she longed for the opportunity to test some of it out.
"Don't go away mad, just go away..." The best line Clint never said.

Founders' Falls, Safehouse:
The Outsider simply raised a brow at the clump of severed security cameras that Mirel dumped onto the table as she claimed her beer and passed Derek's over to him.
"From what I managed to read about this world before the crab attack," The Outsider explained in answer to Ethan's queries on power without technology, "People here seem to be able to call on unique powers for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to, mutations that have developed before or upon birth, post-birth bodily alteration - self-inflicted or otherwise - not being completely human in the first place or, as unbelievable as you may or may not think, magic."
Before she continued, she then took a quick swig of her beer. Derek followed suit shortly after, but not before looking around the bottle in an effort to try and ascertain what it was exactly.
"Ugh," the wanderer complained, his face mildly distorting in disapproval of his beer. "How can -anyone- enjoy this swill?"
"By not being spoiled on your poison of choice, dear." the Outsider retorted as she rolled her eyes one more time. "Anyway, where was I? That's right. That doesn't mean every being in the world has these... superpowers, though. The majority of humanity have thus far remained somewhat mundane, powerless, whatever you want to call it, but it's still seemingly difficult to walk down the street without seeing some spandex nearby without a sportswear shop in sight."

"Pass it here, I can spruce that drink right up for you"
Anderson sat back and retracted the offered hand with a faint smirk, seemingly content to sit back and listen. His pose seem relaxed and casual, but those who noticed such things would see his eyes never once stopped moving, taking in every little detail as much as possible.

"This...has been one hell of a day," he exclaimed to the world in general, looking around curiously as he did so.

"Oh, I wasn't insisting! Just checking to make sure. Sometimes some of House Deneith's warriors need to be asked twice you see." Ineloo smiled slightly, "They say no, and then they spend the rest of the time whining that their leg hurts, so I've learned to check is all. I'm sorry if I caused any offense!"
|
With that, she brought a fist to her chest with force, then guided her steps into the 'floating door' that was the cloaked transport's stern airlock. Kri meanwhile rose with a smirk and a nod to Ineloo.
"It has been, yes." Captain Kalkartova in the meantime agreed with Quicksilver, the emotionless expression of her face cracking just a tad with a mild smile, "And while I can duly understand if you'd like a break, I still think you should head to Galaxy City with these two first. I believe it will save you trouble in the long run..."

Seeing him stashing some of the food, she got up and went over to him. "Hey, ease up on the swiping stuff", she told him. "It's not hard to get in this dimension, you don't need to be taking anything not nailed down here."
|
Ethan gave Ildela a wide grin.
hey yous should never pass up the chance of getting a good nail, he replied pulling out a pair of pliers and waving them at her.
any ways it morea case of not knowing where wes'all end up next, after all there is something pretty kookee agoing on heres
Ethan did however move away from the food, but only to examine the pile of ex-cctv cameras and the possibility of finding some salvage.

Mirel grinned, holding out a hand towards the Outsider. "Pass it here, I can spruce that drink right up for you" |
How she could politely pass up the offer of improving such 'swill' with a simple "I'm good, but thanks anyway"... in fact, actually -enjoying- it, the wanderer just couldn't figure it out.
Maybe she was right. Maybe mead had spoiled him.

Mirel grinned, taking the bottle in hand and swirling it around slightly before handing it back. The Beer inside looked subtly different, but it was hard to place how, maybe it was just a little clearer? Or the light was reflecting off it a little more intensely.
Whatever the case was, the taste sure had changed, it was one of the better beers (Almost the best) that anyone drinking it would have tasted, heck maybe Mirel wasn’t that bad a person after all.
“See, much better now isn’t it? So getting to know each other is it then? Maybe we should ask questions about each other? Unless you want to big old speech of my life story”
Derek accepted the bottle again with increased reluctance. Several seconds were wasted staring down the container's open neck at its contents before the wanderer finally took the risk of just a little sip.
The satisfied smirk on his face after taking a little time to savour that small drop answered everything, but he said it anyway.
"A marked improvement, to say the least."

With a few more creaks from the couch Mirel leaned back, putting her feet up on the table.
They dont seem to make their furniture very sturdy here do they? She commented while flicking a little at her slightly damp hair before continuing.
As for what I was doing? I had just finished off an Outcaste and his ragged band of thugs, though wound up separated from my men in the process, I was making my way through the desert to the legion camp near Paragon when bam, fell through to here.
She stated the last part almost as though the whole thing were boring, eyes hunting around the room for a fruit bowl or something to snack on.

"That's why we're going to try and get the warriors here on our side." Kri added enthusiastically with a glance to Ineloo, "And the others who came here. Strength in numbers, right?"
"Indeed." the Tsaiv woman agreed, once more regarding Quicksilver neutrally, "The ones they call 'superheroes' are the most effective defense force this world has. I believe they would be served well by your insight - especially since most of them don't have telecommunications implants. If you'd rather stay here and work with us though, I think we can find a way to get the resulting information to where it'll do the most good. Right?"
She'd looked to Kri with that last word, and the lavender lizardman gave a nod in response, "We'll tell them anything you pass on to us..."

Having given up on the pile of CCTV cameras Ethan found a comfortable looking seat and took up a restful pose.
Well if this level of crazy is what yous call normal, I am athinking wes should hold up here a while, make the best of a bad job, its warm dry and the food and drink keeps coming.
Resting his tired bones Ethan half closed his eyes and relaxed, though even then his right hand rested on the 10mm Pistol hung from his belt.
its not as if there is any rush of such like . . . .
Ildela had looked over and was about to answer the Outsider's question herself before Mirel spoke first, and she caught a couple of familiar names. "You know, they have a gang around here that calls themselves the Outcasts.", she commented thoughtfully. Not so different after all, perhaps. "But anyway, as for me... I was on my way home from visiting my sister. She landed herself in the nurse's office at school, not sure how exactly. Anyway, I just kinda flew into the portal by chance. Didn't even see it there, which probably says more than it should about me."
|
"I'm going to miss this stuff when we get back." she muttered. With a heavy sigh, she then turned her attention back to the multiversally-displaced group. "-If- we get back. As for myself and Derek... well. We didn't get caught out by the portal that brought us here, I can safely say. I'd left Derek to interrogate a Gear Knight , erm, of the Netrid Empire and spotted it there on our campfire."
"Unfortunately," Derek added. "We got ourselves surrounded by Imperial troops shortly after and put into a situation where trying to fight would have meant certain death. The cruel fate that could have awaited us had we surrendered isn't really something I care to go into great detail on."
"Yeah," The Outsider agreed with a cringe. "I've seen the outcome. Not pretty at all. So we decided to risk the portal and hope that if it killed us, it'd be a lot quicker than giving up to the Empire by far. As you can see, we're still breathing."
Sam: "My mind is a swirling miasma of scintillating thoughts and turgid ideas."
Max: "Me too."

Edward was busy watching the screen, then a siren begun to sound, red lights begun to flash.
"Oh dear, looks like we've got portal sign, lots of them...but they look too stable in order to be a second portal storm, that doesn't make any sense, who on Earth would want to create a stable portal, besides Emperor Cole but there's no signs showing these are Praetorians...oh dear...perhaps I shouldn't have been so open with the many other me's from all those different dimensions."
In Atlas park, Independance Port, Kings Row and Talos Island, large portals rent themselves open but unlike before, simply depositing visitors from other dimensions at random, these were being held open by something else.
The sound of heavy metal boots marching, of orders being yelled. Suddenly a squad of mechanical infantry burst through, immedietaly dealing with any trouble in the local area, some looking to set up a base camp and provide support while others set about corralling the local population.
Stepping through the portal in Atlas park was a small, grey skinned man and then a much larger white skinned, pointy eared, blonde haired, cat-tailed woman.
"Is everything going as you wished it Professor Mechaniker?"
The rumbling coarse voice coming from the hulking cat person in the skull faced breather mask.
"Perfectly my dear Unteroffizer Katze...the Kriegroboter are expendable and shall deal with the heroes in large numbers while we see about making these portals more stable, unfortunately we are quite some distance from our intended invasion point of Peregrine Isle and the Portals there...we shall have to make do though."
Katze looked around, "you there, roboter, gather around myself and the Professor."
The large hulking mass of one of the robots with the glowing fists turned and moved beside the Professor, the smaller gun weilding and the female blade weilding robots that were nearby also joined, forming a bodyguard unit around him with Katze, dwarfing even the larger robots, taking the lead, begining their march towards the tram station...
((Anybody listening to radio signals would pick up chatter about the invasion, about the PPD deploying hardsuits to stem the tide in the various locations as well as heroes answering the call to beat them back.))

A real showstopper!
Atlas Park
"...and so everyone learned that scout drones were, in fact, not good for the teeth." Kri concluded the short tale of daring-do he'd been telling Ineloo on their walk south from City Hall, the high wall that divided the two main levels of Atlas Plaza to their left, "You know, looking back now, I think it silly too, but at the time, it truly did seem..."
The lavender lizardman's words stopped with the same suddenness with which a group of red-dominated individuals came about the corner just ahead at nearly the same time as the halfling and he, the amazingly large woman in their midst apparently drawing his emerald eyes wide open.
To say the shaman was surprised would've been an understatement. Sure, when Ineloo and he had been redirected to City Hall for some manner of bureaucracy (of which he hadn't understood a whit), they'd run into a good few extraordinary-looking people on the way, and the statues they'd passed suggested even more, but...well, he'd not much expected to see someone the size of a fire demon just walk up before him, to say the least.
Indeed, only now did he truly take note of his surroundings again, having been wrapped in the memories conjured forth by his tale, and caught wind of the robotic infantry units marching forth upon the green to the south.
"Uhhhmmm..." the Rulusian looked back to the woman with trepidation, his tongue looking for words that his brain refused to provide...

Ineloo's grin of appreciation at Kri's story faded rapidly when the huge woman with the tail came into view. In spite of the fact that she was generally used to being dwarved by most people (even though she was considered rather tall for her species), this woman was something else - easily twice the hight of the halfling - and clearly not someone to cross.
The Halfling looked up at Kri uncertainly, her hand twitching towards the bow that was secured on her back, "I don't think anyone's mentioned people like these wandering around this city..."
She glanced around again warily. She was rapidly becoming more and more uncomfortable about the situation, her rogue's instincts screaming at her to hide in the shadows. "Um...I think it might be a good idea to get to cover. Soon..."
"Don't go away mad, just go away..." The best line Clint never said.

The armoured woman stretched out on the couch, before folding her hands behind her head.
A shame this little bubble of reality is so disconnected really, from the sounds of things you could really have used a woman like my great great great grandmother, shed have set all these problems right and sorted everything into a nice respectful society
She pulled a hand back up to examine her rather well done nails.
But it seems things have calmed down for now, we can talk about setting you up as a satrapy as soon as the diplomats get here, hows the improved booze anyway Derek?
"Yes." Oxana answered the Cybertronian dryly, then locked eyes with the Protector as two of her armored crewmen picked the man up by his arms and hands, one on each side, "Prep for mindrip and autopsy. I will be along shortly. If he annoys you, kill him. If he does it again, kill him slower and more painfully."
She seemed to consider the matter settled at that, for the two carried their captive off without another word. The Captain, however, intended to have quite a few more, looking up at Quicksilver as she nonchalantly requested, "If you have any data on them, we'd appreciate if you uploaded a copy. It'll be much faster than going back and forth out loud. In addition..."
Meanwhile, the armored figure Ineloo took the suit's helmet into hand and removed the Kazbek headwear. The thus-revealed Tsaiv, her skin nearly a lime-green hue in contrast to Captain Kalkartova's more dulled bluish tone, smiled gently down to the halfing, giving her an appreciate nod.
"I'll be fine." she told Ineloo, "But thank you for the offer. Pardon my ignorance, but for what does GPR stand?"
"...which is why I would recommend you go to their office in the sector called Galaxy City with these two." Oxana finished to Quicksilver with the subdued motion of a hand toward Kri and Ineloo, "You'll still have complete access to our local network, so it'll be like none of us ever left your side..."
"Wait...invasion? Like, take over the world invasion?" he asked, still sounding disbelieving. Worst case scenario, he'd have to play it cool until he could get some actual backup and point out just where these guys were. Hopefully there was just a culural misunderstand here...and not something as bad as the Decepticon prescence.
