This WST could make for a very long week
I am unhappy with WSFs that do not allow the possibility of shard drops as one goes along. I doubt I will be running many under-50 WSFs unless on characters that just happen to need that badge.
I wont be running any more Numinas because only this morning I was reminded that I detest being sent to Terra Volta to languish while some goober vainly tries to defeat 20 CoT in Perez, or whatever. Pass.
Until Issue 20 is released. After that, we'll be able to earn shards while exemped.

We did one today in 46 minutes, and another in 59.
Total time for last night was about 47 minutes. This REALLY isn't as bad as people are making it out, in my opinion.

But the OP does have a legitimate gripe: his team got hit with two zone events. Depending on when they happen to fire off, that could prevent the necessary mobs from spawning for up to 15-20 minutes each. That's not reasonable. It seems like a major design flaw in zone events (or Numina, but since the TF precedes the zone events it should have been accounted for in the zone event design).
Probably the best solution would be to replace the zone hunts with one or two door missions that accomplish the same thing.
I've never had a problem with kill stealing during Numina, and only once have I had a Numina delayed by a Rikti invasion. I guess that's the up side of playing on a server with a smaller population.

I disagree; zone hunts aren't the problem. Things interfering with them are. It's unfortunate if someone gets stuck with this, but I don't think the answer is to remove the objective with a sterile "kill these ducks in this room" replacement.

At least in the Numina TF design, maybe giving a choice of zones for the kill would be the answer. "Arrest 20 Hellions in Atlas Park OR Galaxy City", that kinda thing? That way, if one zone is under Invasion, then an alternate zone would be feasible, but it still keeps the spirit of the hunt requisite intact.

Heh. Wait 'til Synapse is the WST/WTF. Huge herds of Babbages stomping through Skyway!
|
Yeah I believe I made mention of that in another post. I can't wait to see the herds of raging Babbage in Skyway as players TRY to get through that TF andc just skip attacking him. LOL should be interesting and could actually be a challenge.. How many babbage can you purpled out 50 (+1) ... Tank, Scrapper, Blaster, WHATEVER solo at one time?

I have to say I did a number of Numinas today and have done 8 total since it started Tueday. Longest run time .. 2 hours (the one with the two delays caused by zone events) Shortest was 51 minutes. Most have been around 1 hour with one I did tonight taking 1:20 and that was the only one I have seen delayed due to a zone event since my first on Tuesday (ZOMBIE attack in Galaxy.. yeah that's right we managed to take out the Clockwork in Atlas and Outcast in Steel and then got an unscheduled coffee break).
I am noticing a good bit of competition in some zones for kills. On one TF there must have been 3 teams in Talos all after the same mobs of Warriors and on several I have seen 2-4 teams attacking Rikti in FF followed very quickly by the same teams fighting over the same mobs of DE and Nemesis in Eden.
The Ice Minstral SF is a lovely idea except not everyone has a Rogue or Vigilante that can jump back and forth between red an blue side. Most of my Villians are Rogues but only a few of my heroes became Vigilantes ..I opted for hero merits over a few more badges with all but my badger characters.
This shouldn't be a problem the next few weeks when the WST shifts back to, in my opinion, what it should be anyway and we get the ITF followed by Tin Mage (45 and up content that drops SHARDS). Then we can all sit back and watch the mayhem again when Manticore become the WST .. at least 2 hunt missions in that where you need to defeat 25 and then 40 Crey. All my incarnate have the NotW they really need so i may set a lwan chair up on the roof of the tram Station in Brickstown and watch the excitement LOL

Ran a Numina tonight (was hoping to get my Stormie over the hump to 50, but alas). Not one, but two zone events while we were trying to run the hunts. 15 minutes we had to sit and wait for a stupid Banner event in Steel. It was immensely frustrating. Wanna know the worst part? The damn Outcast ambush attacked in the wrong zone.
If they could at least fix the ambushes to go after people in the right zones so that they get credited to mission objectives, that would be useful. If not, Turg makes a good suggestion.

I never liked the hunt missions for Numina. It always dripped of the old-school, original-release time-sink mechanics.
After the reboot of Positron, people will continue to ask for an upgrade to some the original TFs. Hunts make no sense when compared to the LGTF/KHTF mold.

But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

See now THAT idea makes sense. Tell me go defeat 20 Council and I can head to Brickstown (never gets attacked by Rikti), Striga (also no Rikti Invasions) , Steel Canyon, IP 9and again no Rikti so at least one less zone event to worry about) and so one.. same with the Vahzilok .. instead of hunting though cracks and crevices in Faultline I can hit Galaxy City, Kings Row, Steel Canyon or even Atlas Park. Personally I still think the whole run all over the city fighting a pile of low level villains thing could be scrapped but at least with your idea we'd have options. If a zone event was occurring in one zone but three others where that same group hamds out were clear and available!

Numi's my fav tf. If you know how to run it, a normal quick run should take you 45 min at most.
I remember those ambushes and they did suck. But I still liked numi despite those.
Play on a low population server: you never have to deal with kill stealing.
