What's the best way to slot Fiery Embrace?
2 or 3 recharges. That's all you need.

I slot mine with three Adjusted Targeting in Build Up. ;]

I can't see skipping FE making sense, ever. More likely you'd end up doing more damage by dropping one of your attacks (unless you've got only 2-3 attacks, but I don't see much sense in that either since inherent fitness).
I tried to fit it in, and did for about a month, but ultimately the very long recharge makes it less effective for my play style then BU.
I had the same issue with it in beta (as did quite a few others), though there's no denying Castle gave it a significant buff.
With the inherent fitness space, I've taken Assault & Maneuvers on my fire/mace for the first time and I wouldn't look back on the decision.

I'd go with 3 recharge IOs.

Fixed that for you. Fiery Embrace won't take anything but Recharge enhancement, and maybe End Reduction. Since it doesn't buff to-hit, it won't accept to-hit sets.

Assault over FE? Burst damage considerations & end costs aside, does that actually work out over the long run? Even if you aren't always using FE as soon as it's up, I'd think it'd total out to more than 10.5% extra damage over base. Of course, you're affecting your teammates too w/Assault, so I guess that's another consideration.

Note that if one of those teammates has Fulcrum Shift, you're getting even less utility out of Assault (none at all if FS caps damage) but still full utility out of FE...and you're getting FE up faster if the Kin has Speed Boost.

If you can make room for it, and like it, use it, simple premises make for lighter stress in life.
Btw, if a teammate is spamming FSift and SP, you're going to be o k even if for some God knows reason you don't have either BU/FE/or a leaky bag of high octane jet fuel for that matter, ja.
Now I'd like to know how OP slotted FE and what lvl his wee little tanker is by now.
Yeah, I kind of have to disagree, Acemace. Fiery Embrace is quite an impressive boost to your damage, and while it isn't on all the time, it doesn't have the the ridiculous end drain of Assault, and the burst is more useful than a paltry 10% to your offense all the time. Yes, you can get around the end issue some with Cardiac, but I'll still take that big boost every 60-90 seconds over that 10% boost to damage any day.

The real question is when is that old guy in your avatar going to wash the stem on his pipe, dudes been sucking on it for three years.
And no, I don't regret taking assault at all, the small buff to teammates is noticeable when it's on, and what end troubles, my fire/mace has none. I would take FE (or FE/BU & assault for that matter) if I could afford more then one slot, which I can't in my build, and my play style is not patient.
Que sera sera, right.
Hell some players use RotP as a staple in their attack chain, and blood would poor from my rectum before I would play that way.
Dude, you need to bring back your old avatar, that midi was the bomb. Poor Recluse getting clunked by War Mace, oh yeah (Been working on getting my Macer farther into his alpha slot lately). And Gandalf is a wizard, I think he can manage to clean out his pipe when you're not looking.
Powers use can certainly be a matter of preference. I can't imagine using Rise of the Phoenix all the time, even on a Fire Blaster. There's no way a character should be defeated that often. I could see using it for lulz once in awhile (Self Destruct followed by RotP can be hilarious), but that's it.
I just pick it up for those few unfortunate times I do get defeated. Like when the game's server jitters on me and won't let me activate an inspiration or two like I need to.
For my own personal preference, I can see the benefits of adding in Assault, but I wouldn't want to miss out on Fiery Embrace to get it. I was ecstatic when inherent Fitness finally let me fit in Fiery Embrace and Build Up on my defensive build. And Maneuvers, too. I'd take Maneuvers over Assault, too.

Yeah I took that with the free space from I/F, if only there were more slots, the one per each (1assault/1maneuvers) was all I could spare in the most recent build.
But you can't argue with math for the new FE, for those following along,
even taking a level 40 fire tank with GFS 3 slotted with just SO's (95% for easier math), hit Build Up, Fiery Embrace and pop a damage inspire for another 25% damage bonus, that's:
Lethal: 177.14 ((1*1.45)*(1+0.95+0.8+0.25)=4.35*table lookup)
Fire: 255.08 ((1.44*1.45)*(1+0.95+0.8+0.25)=6.265*table lookup)
Total = 432.22
That's an extra 43 damage over the old FE.
Throw in Fulcrum Shift, and it wouldn't be uncommon for you to be at the damage cap while Fiery Embrace was active.
With the typical minion at 390hp and typical lieutenant at 778hp for level 40's, that's a FS/FE combo that is very heavy on damage.
If two free slots drop from the sky, I'll more then likely try to find a way to add fe back into the build. ;]
You don't even need slots to make good use of FE. With just a single recharge IO in it, you've got about 15% uptime on it. With 50% global recharge, that goes up to about 20%. If you've also got Hasten, when its active you've got it up about a third of the time.
Even if your build has paltry global recharge and no Hasten, I'd still take FE over Assault anyday. Assault is utterly overshadowed by any other damage buffs (like Fulcrum Shift) whereas FE works outside of conventional damage caps because its extra damage, not extra damage buffing.

Thanks for the replies all.
I've decided to keep the slot at 1 for now. But will put more in there later on.
I have been slotting up rage, knockout blow, and haymaker.
Not sure if 6 slotting burn is a must at this point. (i haven't yet)
I've been working on my tank when I can. He is at level 34 currently. I'm able to solo him on the +0 / 8 players (hardly using any inspires at all. just lots of healing flames) currently with just generic io's (most being lvl 25). I'll upgrade that later on to better generic io's. Thinking level 40 io's.
I'm finding this toon to be amazing so far when rage and hasten is going. I get a triple stack of rage sometimes (but not for very long). I'm getting 3 1/2 bars of xp per mission!
So excited...lol.

Hey congrats, be sure to bring your little burner to a Tanker Tuesday one day.
Just 3 generic recharge io's?
Also, does anyone know off the top of their head how long the duration lasts for?
I'm thinking of waiting to slot up this power until the later levels as some of my melee powers need some attention.
My Fiery/SS Tanker is at level 26 so far.
